Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will visit China from June 24-27 to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Dalian 2024 themed "New Growth Horizons" and other activities in China.
Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Thanh Binh answered the press about Vietnam's message at WEF Dalian 2024.
WEF, China value Vietnam's position
According to Mr. Binh, the conference is the second largest in scale after the WEF Davos Conference with the participation of 1,600 delegates, organized with the spirit of being a place to converge and create new ideas, new fields, pioneering and creative models that will shape future economic sectors.
Sharing about the activities of the Vietnamese delegation, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is one of the few heads of government invited by the WEF and host country China to attend the conference for two consecutive years.
"That shows that WEF and China highly value Vietnam's position, role and contribution to global economic growth as well as Vietnam's development vision for the future economy," Mr. Binh emphasized.
With that emphasis, Deputy Minister Binh said that the Prime Minister's working trip has many important meanings with many highlights.
First of all, the conference is an opportunity for Vietnam to grasp and contribute its voice to new trends and new driving forces for world economic growth, and to exchange development and governance thinking at the national and global levels.
This is also an opportunity to promote our country's achievements in economic and social growth and development, conveying a strong message about a dynamic and innovative Vietnam, an attractive destination for global corporations.
At this conference, Vietnam will have the opportunity to enhance exchanges and promote relations with countries, partners and international organizations, affirming our country's role and position in the international community, contributing to effectively implementing the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress.
One of the highlights of the conference is that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will give a special speech at the opening plenary session with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and other leaders of other countries.
Vietnam's contribution
According to Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Thanh Binh, the Prime Minister will also speak at discussion sessions and chair dialogues and seminars with the business community specifically for Vietnam.
"With Vietnam's growth and development achievements, I believe that the participation of the Vietnamese delegation, especially Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, will make a very important contribution to the overall success of the conference," said Mr. Binh.
Providing more information about this content, the Deputy Minister said that in his speeches and sharing, the Prime Minister will give Vietnam's assessments, comments and views on the world economy, prospects, opportunities, challenges, and "great changes" that are taking place in the world, affecting global economic development in the short and long term.
At the same time, the head of the Government will discuss and propose solutions to promote the potential and strengths of the Asia-Pacific region, including the role of major regional economies such as China.
In particular, we will demonstrate Vietnam's responsible contribution, emphasizing the role of the private sector and public-private partnership in promoting growth, especially new growth drivers.
At the same time, the Prime Minister will also convey a message about Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, share the vision, policies, development orientations and experience in macroeconomic management of the Party and Government of Vietnam.
On that basis, the head of the Vietnamese Government will call for cooperation and synergy between the WEF and its partners, especially in high-priority, emerging industries, and future industries with spillover effects such as artificial intelligence (AI), science, technology and innovation...
Promoting Vietnam - China cooperation
During the conference, the Prime Minister will have bilateral meetings with senior Chinese leaders.
In the context of the two sides agreeing to elevate the comprehensive strategic partnership and building a community with a shared future, Deputy Minister Pham Thanh Binh said that these activities will be of utmost importance to enhance political trust, concretize common perceptions and high-level agreements between the two sides. This will positively contribute to the well-developed relationship between the two countries.
