The final round of the Asia Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (APMOPS) 2023 held in Singapore brings together mathematical talents from more than 40 countries and territories.
Previously, in the first round held in Vietnam, two students Tran Hoang Lam and Do Gia Bao, students of class 6G0 at Newton Secondary and High School, surpassed 126 candidates to represent the Vietnamese delegation in the final round of APMOPS 2023.
Do Gia Bao received the Apmops 2023 Gold Medal in Singapore.
At the end of the competition, 2 Newton students won 2 final Gold prizes for the Vietnamese team.
The achievements of Do Gia Bao and Tran Hoang Lam are a source of motivation for Newton students to be more confident in conquering international arenas.
Associate Professor, Dr. Ta Ngoc Tri - Deputy Director of the Department of Primary Education - Ministry of Education and Training and Mr. Pham Xuan Tien - Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Education welcomed 2 students who won gold medals at the APMOPS 2023 exam.
Sharing about the achievements of the delegation, teacher Le Thi Bich Dung - Vice President of the Board of Directors of Newton Inter-level School System said: " This is a very difficult tournament, students have to pass the first round to compete with many students from famous schools. We are very proud of the achievements of Do Gia Bao and Tran Hoang Lam. These are very intelligent students, good at both Math and English, so even though they are only in grade 6, they are confident in conquering high international awards."
As a member of the team, ranked 2nd in the APMOPS 2023 competition with a Gold medal, Tran Hoang Lam shared: “This achievement is thanks to the dedicated guidance of teachers and the care of parents over the past time. Participating in the competition has given me valuable and useful experiences. I would like to thank all the teachers, parents and friends who have encouraged and supported me throughout my journey to participate in this competition.”
