According to the 2025 Asian University Rankings recently announced by QS World University Rankings, Vietnam has 17 universities listed.
In this ranking, the top among Vietnamese schools is still Duy Tan University, ranked 127th.
Vietnam National University, Hanoi is ranked 161st, up 26 places from 187th in the QS AUR 2024 – in the top 17% of Asian universities. Next is Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, ranked 184th, up 36 places from last year.
The remaining schools include: Ton Duc Thang University; Nguyen Tat Thanh University; Hue University; Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics; Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education; Da Nang University; University of Transport; Van Lang University; Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry; Can Tho University; Ho Chi Minh City Open University; Hanoi University of Education; Vinh University.
Compared to the 2024 rankings, Vietnam has two more educational institutions on the list, including Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Vinh University.
According to statistics, there are 984 schools from 29 countries and territories listed in the ranking of quality universities in Asia recently announced by QS World University Rankings.
The criteria used by QS World University Rankings to rank universities include: Research results (rate of published and cited scientific articles, academic reputation of the school), learning experience (ratio of students and lecturers in each faculty, number of PhDs in the teaching staff), level of international links (international research collaboration activities, number of international exchange students per year, number of foreign lecturers), rate of students having jobs after graduation...
