The memorial service for the late artist Phi Nhung was recently held at Phap Lac Pagoda (Binh Phuoc). In addition to the late singer's adopted children, Viet Huong and her husband Hoai Phuong were also present to remember the singer.
Notably, Viet Huong also shared for the first time about the journey to bring Phi Nhung's ashes back to the US. For the female artist, it is an unforgettable memory throughout her life.
Viet Huong recounted that every time they met, Phi Nhung would often tell her: "Hey, I'm happy to see you." That's why her colleague's passing made her very sad.
Viet Huong choked up when recounting the journey of bringing Phi Nhung's ashes back to the US.
Viet Huong said that she did not want to send Phi Nhung's ashes to the US because "it would be heartbreaking, she is an A-list star". Therefore, she and her husband decided to bring them back themselves, even though it was a very difficult time due to the pandemic.
On the way, Phi Nhung's remains were placed in a beautiful and very heavy stone jar. Customs conducted many layers of testing before passing.
The female artist said that at first, her husband wanted to wear the urn on his body. However, Viet Huong rejected that idea because her husband is a man. She was the one who “carried her friend” back to her daughter Wendy Pham.
At that time, the epidemic broke out, the flight journey was very difficult, and the plane tickets were also very expensive.
“I went to Korea, the plane stopped for 8 hours. Usually I only stopped for 1 hour and a half before flying to the US. That time, it stopped for 8 hours, I took Phi Nhung's urn and sat with me on a separate chair. And I prepared vegetarian food that Nhung liked. I put the urn on the chair with fruit and the two of us ate together on the plane,” the actress emotionally shared.

Viet Huong also thanked her husband for always respecting and supporting all her decisions. Because the plane ticket was expensive, she planned to go alone, but musician Hoai Phuong decided to accompany his wife. From the time Phi Nhung was in the hospital until her death, Viet Huong and her husband were always close to and took care of their close colleague.
She burst into tears at the airport when handing over the urn to her daughter Phi Nhung. “ When Chi Tai was brought back to the US, his body was still intact, but Nhung only had an urn. It was very difficult to send an urn. Spiritually, I feel very sad when I remember the whole journey to take care of Nhung while she was in the hospital. Today, it has been 2 years, the children have also finished mourning, but no matter what they do, they will always remember that image in their minds. That is why I dare not tell too much, because it will make me sad,” the female artist confided with a choked voice.
Viet Huong accompanied Phi Nhung in her last days.
Viet Huong accompanied Phi Nhung in her final days. On the special flight that lasted up to 30 hours, Viet Huong did some really nice things for her sister. She reserved a seat for Phi Nhung's urn right next to it. Notably, in the photo the actress shared on Facebook, she even used a blanket to cover the basket containing the urn as a way to keep Phi Nhung from getting cold and thoughtfully prepared a special portion of food for the late artist on the plane.
The actress expressed that only when she returned to the US, met Wendy, and handed over Phi Nhung's urn of ashes, did she burst into tears because of the pent-up emotions she had to hide all this time while telling herself to be strong to take care of and properly arrange the funeral for her colleague.
