On the evening of March 29, Becamex Binh Duong defeated Phu Dong Ninh Binh in the quarter-finals of the 2024-2025 National Cup. The two teams drew 2-2 after 90 minutes and in the penalty shootout, Binh Duong Club won 5-4.

Striker Nguyen Tien Linh was the most prominent name of the match not only because of his opening goal but also his unbelievable miss from a distance of only 5 meters.
