On the evening of December 30, Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee held a conference to review the first phase and launch the second phase to support the campaign to support housing construction for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in the province in the two years 2024 - 2025.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Lai The Nguyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, requested Party committees at all levels, government committees, Fatherland Front, and organizations in the province to step up propaganda, dissemination, and education to organizations, individuals, businesses, philanthropists, and people of all walks of life about the content, purpose, significance, and humanity of the campaign; effectively carry out the investigation, review, and grasp the number of poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties that need support in the area, ensuring accuracy and targeting.
Thereby, mobilizing the maximum resources from society, along with State resources to support housing construction for households, ensuring the completion of the campaign's goals.
The implementing units must be open, transparent, timely, effective, and lawful in receiving, managing, allocating, and using the campaign's support and funding sources, absolutely not allowing negativity or waste to occur.
The heads of local Party committees, authorities and units must promote the highest responsibility of setting an example, being pioneers, being decisive, and leading with the spirit of "cadres and Party members go first, the country follows"; carry out tasks proactively, positively and effectively...
According to the report of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, after 9 months of implementing the campaign, up to now, the whole province has mobilized over 226 billion VND to support the repair and construction of houses for 4,226 households, of which 2,967 houses have been completed and repaired, reaching over 84% of the target set for the 2 years 2024-2025. The reception, management, allocation and use of the campaign's support sources are carried out publicly, transparently, promptly, to the right subjects and in accordance with the provisions of law.
Along with mobilizing and supporting resources for housing construction, localities in the province have paid attention to reviewing poor households, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances; encouraging and motivating children of families, clans, and communities to actively support livelihood creation and job creation for the poor, policy beneficiaries, etc., helping families "settle down", develop the economy, and stabilize their lives.
However, in addition to the results achieved in phase 1, the review shows that in the province there are still over 1,000 poor and near-poor households and people in difficult circumstances living in simple, makeshift, dilapidated houses, often affected by natural disasters, storms, floods, landslides, especially in mountainous and disadvantaged areas.
With the goal of "leaving no one behind" and striving to eliminate all "temporary and dilapidated houses" by 2025, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee, Chairwoman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, launched the second phase, supporting the campaign.
At the same time, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Thuy also committed: The Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee will provide specific instructions on how to support, closely monitor and commit to using the funds for the right purposes, effectively, publicly and transparently, in accordance with legal regulations and promptly support the construction of houses for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in the province.
Immediately after the call, at the conference, 98 groups and individuals inside and outside the province donated more than 172 billion VND.
