U22 Vietnam meets China tonight 4-9

Vietnam U22 team will have their opening match against China U22 at 6:35 p.m. tonight, September 4, at Helong Sport Center Stadium in the CFA Team China 2024 Friendly Tournament.

Vietnam U22 is currently in Hunan province, China for a friendly match at the invitation of the Chinese Football Association (CFA) from September 2 to 10, 2024. The tournament, called CFA Team China 2024, brings together 4 teams including host U22 China, U22 Malaysia, U22 Uzbekistan and U22 Vietnam.

Coach Dinh Hong Vinh was assigned to lead the U22 Vietnam team. Because the U22 training camp coincided with the Vietnam team's FIFA Day, coach Kim Sang Sik did not directly lead the team. The team arrived in Hunan on September 2 after two long flights from Noi Bai airport. After two days of getting used to the competition conditions, the U22 Vietnam team was ready for the match against the U22 China team. Speaking before the match, Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh thanked the CFA and the local organizing committee for their warm welcome. Mr. Vinh said: "This is a great opportunity for young Vietnamese players to compete and gain valuable experiences for their development." Before participating in the CFA Team China 2024 Friendly Tournament, the U22 Vietnam team only had two short-term training camps. "This time we only have 2 days to practice and then travel, but the players all have time to mature together when participating in the youth team levels. The upcoming matches will not be easy, but with preparation and solidarity, we will try our best to achieve the set goal of discovering outstanding factors for U23 Vietnam." On the afternoon of September 3, U22 Vietnam had a practice session to get acquainted with the Helong Sport Center field. On the opening day of the tournament, U22 Malaysia will meet U22 Uzbekistan at 2:30 p.m., U22 Vietnam will meet U22 China at 6:35 p.m.
