As of March, Gates has a fortune of 149 billion USD and is the fifth richest person in the world.

This is Bill Gates' first return to Vietnam in nearly two decades. The trip comes after he attended a lavish pre-wedding party for Asia's richest man - the son of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani. Along with his girlfriend Paula Kalupa, Gates was among the global elite gathered at the grand event.

After the celebration, he will travel to Vietnam, a country he last visited in 2006, to conduct business activities related to the information technology sector. According to the schedule, the American billionaire will spend about 5 days in Da Nang and Hoi An, staying at a luxurious 5-star resort in Son Tra district.

Earlier, during his 2006 visit, Bill Gates worked with representatives of Vietnam's growing information technology industry and visited Tu Son district, Bac Ninh province, where he experienced local customs, including chewing betel and listening to traditional mandarins.

BNN Breaking notes that Bill Gates’ return after 18 years is a testament to Vietnam’s growing appeal as a tourist destination for global figures. The current visit to Da Nang and Hoi An could boost tourism, helping to showcase the region’s rich heritage, stunning landscapes and hospitality. Furthermore, such high-level visits often spur interest in local investment opportunities, potentially benefiting Vietnam’s economy and technology sector.
