Lao Minister of Education and Sports shares about Cuu Long University

On the occasion of Bunpimay New Year 2025, on April 11, a delegation of leaders of Cuu Long University led by Distinguished Teacher, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu - Party Secretary, Rector, visited and wished a happy New Year to the leaders of the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports in Vientiane.

Speaking at the meeting, Meritorious Teacher Luong Minh Cu kindly visited and congratulated Lao Minister of Education and Sports Phout Simmalavong and Lao Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Samlane Phamkhavong.

Meritorious teacher Luong Minh Cu gave an overview of Cuu Long University, as well as summarized the outstanding achievements over 25 years of construction and development.

Accordingly, Cuu Long University currently has about 60 Laotian students studying here. The school always creates the best conditions for Laotian students to participate in studying, researching and training. According to the plan, on April 15, Cuu Long University will organize Tet for Laotian and Cambodian students to create conditions for them to celebrate the traditional New Year of the nation.

Mr. Phout Simmalavong, Minister of Education and Sports of Laos, highly appreciated the training cooperation between Cuu Long University and Laos in recent times. The university has supported Laos a lot from human resource training to scientific research.

On the same afternoon, Cuu Long University coordinated with the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports to organize the opening ceremony of the first Vietnamese language class of the Vietnamese Language Training Center in Vientiane.

The course has 50 students who are officers and employees of the Education Publishing House, the Institute of Educational Sciences (Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos); high school students, and university students who want to study at the next level in Vietnam. Thereby, helping Lao students to have the opportunity to learn Vietnamese before studying majors in Vietnam; at the same time, learn about Vietnamese culture and customs and save time and money on learning Vietnamese.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang - First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos - stated that the Institute of Educational Sciences has cooperated with Cuu Long University, Vietnam to establish a Vietnamese language training center with full modern learning equipment; rich teaching and learning activities, organized according to the selection of suitable time for learners to promote the Vietnamese language learning movement for officials, students to develop Vietnamese language skills for work and preparatory Vietnamese language study before studying and researching in Vietnam.
