Propaganda about seas and islands and giving gifts to fishermen going offshore

On September 20 and 21, 2024, in Bac Lieu province, the Technical Assurance Center (TAC) and Brigade 125 of Naval Region 2 coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Lieu province to organize propaganda on seas and islands, propaganda to attract human resources and implement the program "Vietnam Navy is a fulcrum for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea".

At the program, the two units presented 100 life jackets, 200 national flags; 15 cartons of milk, moon cakes, 20 gifts to fishing families in difficult circumstances, distributed 100 sets of documents on the content "Some things fishermen need to know" to local people and supported travel expenses for 100 fishermen (VND 100,000/person).

The Center for Social Work gives gifts to 5 children sponsored by the unit.

On this occasion, the Center for Fisheries and Aquaculture awarded 5 health insurance cards (each card worth 900,000 VND) and 4th quarter support money (each child worth 1.5 million VND) to 5 children sponsored by the unit. As part of the program, the Reporter of Brigade 125 informed about some new legal regulations on the prevention of illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing and some regulations on administrative sanctions in the field of fisheries.

Through the propaganda session, fishermen have raised their awareness and understanding, thereby voluntarily and strictly complying with the provisions of the law during the exploitation and fishing process, especially implementing the recommendations of the European Commission (EC) to join hands with all levels, sectors and forces to remove the EC's yellow card for our country's fisheries industry.

Colonel Lai The Cong, Political Commissar of the Center for Maritime Affairs, informed the situation of the sea and islands to key union and association officials at all levels of the province.

Previously, in Bac Lieu city, Colonel Lai The Cong, Political Commissar of the Center for National Defense and Security, informed more than 100 key officials of the provincial Youth Union and Association at all levels about the recent situation in the East Sea; forecasted the situation in the East Sea and viewpoints, policies, solutions to fight, directions, and tasks of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands in the coming time; built a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern Navy and the results of the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

This is useful and necessary information, contributing to equipping knowledge for key Youth Union and Association officials at all levels in the province, those who directly and regularly access, convey information, propagate and disseminate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on issues related to the sea and islands... to union members, youth, students and pupils.

In Gia Rai town, Bac Lieu province, the Center for Information and Communications organized a propaganda session to attract human resources for nearly 400 students from high schools in the area. The Center's reporters disseminated and informed about the following contents: The position, role, and importance of Vietnam's seas and islands in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, introducing the Naval Academy, policies to attract human resources to build a regular, elite, and modern Navy, the attention of the Party, State, and Army to the Navy, things to know to become a long-term serving officer in the Navy, etc.
