Cholimex chili sauce, Vietravel, Loc Troi... are subject to tax arrears

A series of businesses such as Cholimex, Vietravel, Loc Troi... declared incorrectly, leading to a shortage of tax payable and being charged billions of dong by tax authorities.

According to the decision on administrative sanctions for tax violations of the General Department of Taxation, Cholimex Food Joint Stock Company (Cholimex Food) made false declarations, leading to a shortage of tax payable.

Therefore, Cholimex Food must pay the full amount of tax arrears to the State Bank of more than 5.3 billion VND.

Of which, value added tax is more than 1.8 billion VND, corporate income tax is more than 3.1 billion VND and personal income tax is 304 million VND. These amounts are determined in the period 2021-2023.

At the same time, the company must pay more than 1 billion VND in late tax payment. Thus, the total tax settlement amount that Cholimex Food must pay to the budget is more than 7.4 billion VND.

Cholimex Food was established in 1981. Initially, the company operated in multiple sectors, including purchasing and processing agricultural and aquatic products. In 2005, Cholimex Food transformed into a joint stock company.

Currently, the company focuses on manufacturing and trading main products in the sauce and spice industry such as chili sauce, tomato sauce, fish sauce, soy sauce, etc.

In the first 9 months of this year, Cholimex Food recorded more than 2,600 billion VND in net revenue.

The company's gross profit margin was over 28% (2% higher than the same period last year) and net profit was nearly VND 189 billion (reaching nearly 74% of the yearly plan).

Thus, for every 100 VND of revenue, the company that owns the Cholimex chili sauce brand earns more than 7 VND of after-tax profit.

In addition to Cholimex Food, Loc Troi Group Joint Stock Company was also sanctioned by the tax authority for tax administrative violations, with a total amount of arrears of more than 5 billion VND.

The two largest amounts are corporate income tax of more than 3.2 billion VND and administrative fines of more than 837 million VND.

Northern Coal Trading Joint Stock Company (Vinacomin) is in a similar situation.

This company declared input value added tax that did not meet the conditions for deduction, and the business invoice had a business address removed.

At the same time, the company accounts for expenses with some non-deductible expenses, determines deduction conditions for dependents in violation of regulations.

This company was administratively fined more than VND532 million, of which nearly VND479 million was for falsely declaring 20% ​​of the additional value-added tax, corporate income tax and personal income tax.

In addition, Vinacomin was charged more than 2.3 billion VND in back taxes and more than 155 million VND in late payment fees.

Also because of incorrect declaration leading to a lack of tax payable, Sonadezi Long Thanh Joint Stock Company was administratively fined 382.6 million VND and had to pay back more than 1.9 billion VND.

This company must pay a total fine and remedy of 2.37 billion VND.

Vietravel was charged 1.4 billion VND

Previously in mid-November, Vietnam Tourism and Transport Marketing Joint Stock Company (Vietravel) also received a decision on tax penalties.

Vietravel declared incorrect value added tax, incorrect corporate income tax, incorrect personal income tax, resulting in a shortage of tax payable.

Accordingly, Vietravel was administratively fined more than 286 million VND and had to pay back taxes of more than 1.4 billion VND.
