Trieu Son Youth with "Clean Sunday"

With the motto "Green action for a green environment", Trieu Son youth have been strongly promoting their pioneering and proactive spirit in organizing "Clean Sunday" activities, thereby contributing to the effective implementation of Directive No. 15 of Trieu Son District Party Committee on strengthening environmental sanitation and implementing cultural lifestyles in agencies, communities and residential areas in the district.

Walking along the roads and streets in Trieu Son town, An Nong, Van Son, Xuan Thinh communes..., one can clearly feel the effectiveness of the work of protecting the green - clean - beautiful environment; building civilized urban areas, friendly citizens... Implementing "Clean Sunday", the commune and town unions have organized activities to clean up the environment, plant trees, support the renovation of mixed gardens, plant flowers on the sidewalks, build new rural areas, clean up the environment on village roads and alleys, clear bushes, decorate office premises, schools, memorial houses, historical - cultural relics... attracting thousands of union members and young people to participate. These are meaningful and practical activities, thereby creating a vibrant atmosphere, at the same time contributing to raising awareness and responsibility for environmental protection among union members and young people, linking the work of the team and the children's movement in schools with local movement activities.

Not only doing well in waste collection and environmental sanitation activities, in order to continue to improve the effectiveness of environmental protection work, the Youth Unions in the district also do well in mobilizing members and young people to actively participate in utilizing recycled materials such as used motorbike and car tires, wooden bars, and iron bars to create slides, swings, and create many other diverse tools and toys to form playgrounds in the cultural house and schoolyard for children. Many commune unions have registered to undertake many meaningful projects and tasks such as planting and taking care of flower gardens and trees; implementing the model of "Youth Tree Road"; "Mural Road"; "Flowering Electric Poles"; removing illegal advertising leaflets and classified ads that spoil the beauty of residential areas...

Secretary of Trieu Son District Youth Union Ha Thi Thuy said: "From the beginning of the year, the Standing Committee of the District Youth Union has strengthened propaganda, education, and implementation of environmental protection work to the grassroots youth union through programs, action plans, and criteria for monthly and quarterly emulation evaluation. At the same time, it has directed grassroots youth union to register to undertake youth projects and tasks, and organize campaigns to clean up and beautify the environment on weekends, attracting thousands of union members and young people to participate."

Responding to the "Clean Sunday" activity, in the first quarter of 2024, all youth unions in the district simultaneously launched specific and practical activities. The whole union organized 45 youth projects and tasks. The activities of participating in building civilized urban areas achieved good results, in which the union of Nua town and Trieu Son town units deployed and replicated models of self-managed youth routes, bright - green - clean - beautiful - civilized - safe routes and organized volunteer youth teams to propagate the construction of civilized urban lifestyle. Environmental protection activities and climate change response were effectively implemented, in which the outstanding ones were responding to the Tree Planting Festival and the program "For a Green Vietnam", the district youth union planted 15,000 new trees.
