Sparkling "Hoai Giang Night"

The live show “Hoai Giang Night” took place on the evening of April 10 on the Hoai River (Hoi An City), with 3 main parts: “Reunion - Love”, “Colors of Hoai Giang” and “Moon and Water of Hoai Giang”.

The program is a blend of many traditional folk music genres such as Ho Khoan, Quang folk songs, Bai Choi folk songs combined with sound and light art and performances imbued with local cultural identity, helping visitors and viewers easily feel the rich history, culture, land of Hoi An as well as the people of Quang.

During the 30-minute art program, many people and tourists crowded on An Hoi Bridge and both sides of Hoai River (from An Hoi Bridge to the area opposite Chua Cau - where the program took place) to hear and see the performances up close.

Many choirs also came to watch and most of them were surprised and delighted by the novelty and appeal of the art program, especially in the shimmering, magical space of the Hoai River.

Mr. Nathan Inkhong - member of the YES Choir (Thailand) shared that this was the first time he had enjoyed such a unique and interesting art program. Through that, it helped him understand more about the land and people of Hoi An with its rich history and diverse culture.

“As you know, Thailand also has many attractive tourism products but not like this art program. It is really impressive and unique!” - Mr. Nathan Inkhong commented.

Launched in 2022, the live show "Hoai Giang Night" has become a unique night tourism product in Hoi An, where visitors can enter a polyphonic, multi-colored world; experience community activities and entertainment, things that have taken place here for hundreds of years.

However, due to many factors, the program "Hoai Giang Night" is not performed much, only occasionally taking place in major cultural and tourism events serving the people and tourists.

Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Cam - Director of Hoi An City Culture, Information and Tourism Center said that with materials from folk art, "Hoai Giang Night" is not only a simple cultural tourism product but also a space of art and creativity to introduce folk music melodies and traditional crafts to visitors from near and far.

Therefore, organizing the live show “Hoai Giang Night” in the International Choir Competition is also a way to introduce to art troupes and international friends the unique values ​​that the heritage land of Hoi An is preserving and promoting effectively throughout its history.
