The Vietnam Cultural Week in Laos in 2024 is not only a regular and symbolic activity, but also demonstrates Vietnam's strong commitment to the special Vietnam-Laos friendship.
According to a VNA reporter in Laos, on the evening of December 10, at the Lao National Cultural Palace in the capital Vientiane, the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism to organize the Vietnam Cultural Week in Laos in 2024 with the theme "Colors of Vietnamese culture, Vietnam-Laos friendship."
Attending the event were Mr. Khamphan Phommathat - Member of the Politburo of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Chairman of the State Inspection Committee, Chairman of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption; Mr. Boviengkham Vongdara - President of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association, Minister of Technology and Communications of Laos; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Hoang Dao Cuong; Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos Vansy KouaMoua; representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos; representatives of relevant departments and offices of Vietnam and Laos; representatives of the Vietnamese community in Laos; representatives of the Vietnamese community in the northeastern provinces of Thailand and a large number of Lao people.
Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong said that the Vietnam Cultural Week in Laos in 2024 is not only a regular, symbolic activity, but also demonstrates Vietnam's strong commitment to this special friendship.
Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong hoped that through the traditional singing, dancing and music program performed by Vietnamese artists, Vietnamese and Lao audiences and international friends would have the opportunity to better understand Vietnamese culture; at the same time, it would be an opportunity for Vietnam and Laos to review the tradition of friendship between the two Parties, States and peoples, and look forward to a future of increasingly strong and effective cooperation.
On the Lao side, Lao Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Vansy KouaMoua emphasized that this activity not only demonstrates the tradition of close friendship between the two countries, but also organizes the implementation of the Laos-Vietnam cultural, artistic and tourism cooperation plan for the period 2021-2025.
At this Vietnam Cultural Week, the Vietnamese Art Troupe and students from Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese Bilingual School performed unique art performances imbued with cultural identity, praising President Ho Chi Minh and the great friendship between Vietnam and Laos, praising the love for the country and people.
With traditional Vietnamese musical instruments such as flute, monochord, and đàn tính, the artists took the audience through many emotional experiences to explore every region and beautiful, majestic landscape of Vietnam./.
