Ho Chi Minh City: More than 20 students show signs of food poisoning after returning home from school

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety has taken food samples from Vo Thi Sau Primary School and student specimens for testing, and also inspected the school's food supplier.

On April 10, Vo Thi Sau Primary School, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City reported that 21 students had symptoms of vomiting, stomachache, and fever on April 9 after returning from school.

Accordingly, on the evening of April 9, parents whose children study at this school reported that many students had symptoms of vomiting, stomachaches, etc. and were taken to the hospital by their families.

As of the morning of April 10, the school recorded 21 students absent from school due to stomachache and vomiting, of which 7 students went to the hospital and were sent home, 1 student is still being monitored at the hospital, the remaining students are in stable health.

It is known that Vo Thi Sau Primary School has a contract with an industrial catering unit to serve meals for boarding students. The school has requested the medical department to keep the food sample sealed on April 9.
