Impersonating a labor export company to commit fraud:

These are new tricks and schemes that many bad guys are using. Despite warnings from authorities, many workers still "fall into the trap".

The subjects forged labor contracts and receipts of Thuan Phat International Group Joint Stock Company (Cau Giay District) to defraud workers who wanted to work abroad.

Reflecting to Hanoi Moi Newspaper, Director of Thuan Phat International Group Joint Stock Company (on Tran Thai Tong Street, Cau Giay District) Nguyen Hoang Giang informed that from October 2024 to now, about 300 workers have called or come to the company to say they were scammed with billions of dong. The least person was scammed of 3 million dong, the most was 943 million dong.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang said that the tricks of the subjects were to impersonate the company, fake orders, addresses, receipts, and labor contracts to gain the trust of people who wanted to go to Taiwan (China) to work. However, when transferring money, the subjects asked the workers to transfer money to account 15086688 at Techcombank of TC Toan Cau Company Limited with the reason to... "circumvent the law".

According to the victims, the subject posted a recruitment for labor export with very easy conditions, such as: No qualifications required, no age limit, no foreign language... Therefore, workers who wanted to work abroad transferred money without checking or verifying the information. But when the money was transferred, the subject said that the worker had transferred the wrong syntax, had to transfer a similar amount and then made an appointment to come to the company to receive the cash later.

Next, the subject stated that the company account was "suspended" by the tax authority, so the money had to be transferred to another account, and that when the tax authority refunded the money, they would come to collect it directly. Many people called or went to the company headquarters to find out, and only stopped the transaction when they discovered they had been scammed.

In particular, according to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, many people living in distant provinces have transferred money many times to complete the application without appraisal.

One of them is Mr. Nguyen Van H., in Nghe An province. Because his relatives working in Taiwan (China) found information about sending people to work abroad in this country through some Facebook groups, he trusted and transferred money many times to account 15086688, Techcombank, a total of 943 million VND.

After transferring money many times without success, Mr. H. contacted Thuan Phat International Group Joint Stock Company but it was too late.

Similarly, Duc Minh International Investment Company (headquartered at 148 Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Cau Giay District) is also a unit that has been impersonated. According to the company, recently some employees came to the company to request to make transactions to work abroad as promised on documents such as receipts, contracts... signed by the company. When compared, those documents and signatures were forged.

The company has instructed workers to go to the police to report crimes, and warned workers that all financial transactions related to recruitment, labor export, and study abroad programs should only be conducted through the company, and that money should never be transferred to individuals or organizations of unknown identity.

Previously, in August 2024, Hai Viet International Cooperation Company Limited (Hoang Mai District) warned about the situation of workers transacting recruitment to work in Australia with fraudsters, impersonating the company, using receipts and notices signed by the company's Director. The subjects collected money and forged a response document from the Department of Overseas Labor Management (Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, now the Ministry of Home Affairs) approving the company to send workers to work in Australia. Believing that, many workers were cheated of money.

Not only impersonating labor export enterprises, these subjects also took advantage of the name of the Overseas Labor Center to defraud and illegally broker labor export. The subjects created Fanpages "Overseas Employment Consulting Center", "Labor Export Consulting - Asian"... pretending to be the official information page of the Overseas Labor Center and gained the trust of many people.

According to the Director of the Overseas Labor Center, Dang Huy Hong, recently, some people have impersonated the Center to recruit workers to work in Korea. According to regulations, workers are students, aged 18-39, only have to pay about 17 million VND. However, the subjects illegally collected over 80 million VND/person.

Mr. Dang Huy Hong said that this is a fraudulent act. The Center has warned many times and recommended that workers who want to go abroad to work should carefully study the process and costs on the Center's website to avoid being scammed.

Despite having been exposed for many tricks, scammers continue to come up with new tricks to target gullible people. Hanoi City Police have also posted many warnings about this impersonation scam. Therefore, workers need to go directly to the headquarters of reputable, legitimate companies or to the authorities for advice when they need to go abroad to work.
