(Dan Tri) - From a captured message posted on social media, many students are worried that Ho Chi Minh City National University will limit the age of the competency assessment exam from 2025.
This concern stems from a photo of a message exchange believed to be between a candidate and the Ho Chi Minh City National University fanpage. This message was posted on the evening of November 12 on a Ho Chi Minh City National University exam review fanpage with tens of thousands of members.
The message is said to be between the candidate and the Ho Chi Minh City National University Fanpage, leading to discussion about the age of candidates for the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam (Photo: HN).
The message content shows that, in the response to the candidate, the Ho Chi Minh City National University Fanpage responded: "The 2025 Competency Assessment Exam has an age limit, only for 12th grade candidates applying to universities".
When this candidate asked again if those born from 2006 and later would not be allowed to take the exam, the Ho Chi Minh City National University Fanpage replied: "Yes".
The content of the above message was released right after Ho Chi Minh City National University announced the structure of the competency assessment test applicable from 2025 on the afternoon of November 12, leading to more discussions about the age of participation in this exam.
Many candidates said that with this age limit, students who are late to school or want to retake the university entrance exam will not have the opportunity to take the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam. Thus, many opportunities for their plans are closed.
In response to this stir, on the morning of November 13, Ho Chi Minh City National University responded that since the start of the capacity assessment exam in 2018, Ho Chi Minh City National University has clearly defined the candidates. Specifically, the candidates include:
People studying grade 12 of high school program or continuing education program of high school level in the year of exam organization;
People who have completed high school but have not taken the high school graduation exam or have taken the exam but have not graduated from high school in previous years;
High school graduates; intermediate level graduates with high school diplomas (according to the provisions of the Law on Education and implementing guidelines) or graduates of foreign high school programs abroad or in Vietnam (permitted by the host country to implement, achieving a level equivalent to Vietnamese high school level).
Thus, students in grade 12 or those who graduated from high school in previous years, regardless of age, can register to take the competency assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University.
