On September 1, at the Tay Son Tam Kiet Temple, a special national relic in Phu Phong town (Tay Son district), Binh Dinh province, a ceremony was held to commemorate the 232nd death anniversary of Emperor Quang Trung (1792-2024).
The death anniversary is an opportunity for the government and people of Binh Dinh province to review the heroic tradition of the Tay Son peasant movement, thereby educating all classes of people and today's young generation about national pride, promoting the tradition of patriotism, and striving to build a more prosperous homeland.
Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, read a prayer to King Quang Trung, praying for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather, and the increasingly prosperous development of Binh Dinh.
According to the leader of the Department of Culture and Sports of Binh Dinh province, the Tay Son peasant uprising movement in the second half of the 18th century was closely associated with the careers of the three Tay Son brothers: Nguyen Nhac, Nguyen Hue and Nguyen Lu, represented by Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue, an outstanding leader, both intelligent and brave, who turned the Tay Son movement from a peasant uprising into a movement to fight for national liberation.
From a talented general who fought and won every battle, Emperor Quang Trung became a national hero, a military genius who overthrew feudal forces; erased the Gianh River border that had divided the country for over 200 years; wiped out 50,000 Siamese troops with the resounding Rach Gam - Xoai Mut victory and the climax was the historic Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da victory in the year of Ky Dau 1789, defeating 290,000 Qing invaders to firmly protect national independence.
Emperor Quang Trung was not only a military genius but also an outstanding politician with many policies of recruiting talented people, treating them well, winning people's hearts, and establishing friendly relations with neighboring countries in the process of building the country.
Many people and tourists came to offer flowers and incense at Tay Son temple.
The hero in red flag and cloth who fought in the south and pacified the north suddenly passed away on July 29, 1792, leaving behind many unfinished ambitions.
Emperor Quang Trung's life only had 39 springs, but he devoted all his mind, intelligence, talent, and energy to the struggle for national independence.
With his brilliant justice, talent and great virtue, Emperor Quang Trung has added a brilliant golden page to the history of the nation. The Tay Son peasant movement under the leadership of the military genius Emperor Quang Trung is the heroic song of our nation.
Coming to Quang Trung Museum, people and tourists do not forget to wash their faces and drink water from the ancient well that raised the three Tay Son brothers.
