Cam Thuy Primary and Secondary School celebrates its 50th anniversary

This morning, November 16, Cam Thuy Primary and Secondary School, Cam Lo district solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate its 50th anniversary (1974-2024).

At the ceremony, generations of cadres, teachers, staff and students of the school reviewed the 50-year tradition since the establishment, construction and growth of Cam Thuy Primary and Secondary School. Accordingly, the school officially came into operation on May 10, 1974, initially named Cam Thuy Primary School.

The school's pedagogical council at that time had only 17 staff and teachers, mainly teachers from the North. The school's facilities were makeshift, built mainly of bamboo. With the attention of the Party committees at all levels, the government, and the local people, the teachers and students of the school made efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges to successfully complete the teaching and learning tasks.

In 1977, the school took over some classrooms of the Party school in Lam Lang 2 village as classrooms and accommodation for cadres, teachers and staff. Due to the large number of students and the wishes of the people, Cam Thuy Primary and Secondary School was established.

The school expanded in size and the teaching staff increased significantly. In the 1979-1980 school year, according to the Decision of the Ministry of Education and Training on the organization of general schools in the provinces south of the Ben Hai River, the school was renamed Cam Thuy Secondary School.

In August 1990, implementing the policy of innovating educational management at all levels to improve the quality of teaching and learning, according to the decision of the People's Committee of Dong Ha town, the school separated the primary and secondary levels into two schools named Cam Thuy Primary School and Cam Thuy Secondary School.

Over the past 50 years, the collective of cadres, teachers, employees and students of the school have always been united and joined hands to build the unit to develop more and more. For many consecutive years, the school has achieved the title of excellent labor collective, advanced labor.

Hundreds of cadres and teachers of the school have been recognized as emulation fighters, excellent teachers and typical advanced teachers at all levels. In the past 5 years, there have been more than 40 teachers who are excellent teachers and excellent homeroom teachers at the district and provincial levels.

The school’s comprehensive educational quality is always maintained and constantly improved. The quality of the school’s spearhead is also clearly affirmed. The school has students winning national prizes and every year many students win excellent student prizes at the district and provincial levels.

On this occasion, the Minister of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to Cam Thuy Primary and Secondary School and 3 individuals of the school who had outstanding achievements in the process of building and developing the school.

At the ceremony, Cam Thuy commune, organizations, businesses and individuals presented many gifts to students of the school with difficult circumstances who have excelled in their studies.
