TRADITIONAL COURSES STILL KEEP, SOME NEW SUBJECTS ADDED
Present at the program, Master Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, Deputy Director of the Center for Admissions and Business Relations of the University of Finance - Marketing, said that in 2025, the school's draft enrollment plan will have some changes to adapt to the high school graduation exam according to the 2018 General Education Program and the draft Regulations on enrollment for university and college levels in preschool education of the Ministry of Education and Training.
"The school's target for 2025 is 4,350. Regarding admission methods, the school remains stable as in previous years. The school plans to focus on two main subjects, math or literature, in the admission combinations depending on each group of majors. The remaining two subjects in the combination will be in the 9 subjects, which are subjects that are compatible with the subjects that students have chosen for the high school graduation exam. Therefore, students do not need to worry," Master Phung informed.

Dr. Nguyen Van Kha, Deputy Director of the Admissions and Communications Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, also said that the school will maintain the same methods and subject combinations as in 2024, but will adjust and add some combinations to facilitate candidates of the new general education program.
"In 2025, the school will add literature, economics, law, and information technology to the subject groups of the majors. The school will also add a method of using the results of a specialized assessment exam organized by the school in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City University of Education at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade. At the same time, the groups C00, C07, and C08 will be added to some major groups to increase opportunities for candidates," said Dr. Kha.
According to Dr. Kha, if the Ministry of Education and Training decides to have early admission and limit it to 20%, the school plans to consider 20% of the quota for direct admission, considering high school transcripts, Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment test scores and specialized assessment test scores in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. The remaining 80% of the quota is for the general admission round.
Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance plans to consider methods including the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam, high school graduation exam results, and academic records. Master Truong Thi Ngoc Bich, Director of the school's Communication Center, informed: "In 2025, the school will open more majors in commercial law and software engineering. The school is calculating a number of options, which is that the admission combination will include 4 subjects, of which math and literature are 2 compulsory subjects. For example, in the technology group, literature and math are 2 compulsory subjects; the remaining 2 subjects are related to the training orientation of the major such as information technology and technology".
Regarding Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Master Vo Ngoc Nhon, Deputy Director of the Admissions Consulting Center, shared: "The school plans to maintain the same admission method as in 2024, including 4 methods: considering high school graduation exam scores, Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment test scores, grade 12 subject combinations and V-SAT exam results. The school will also add new subjects to the admission combinations such as information technology, technology, economics and law".
DON'T WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT EARLY ADMISSION
According to experts, no matter what changes the Ministry of Education and Training makes to the admission regulations, the schools' admission plans will remain stable and closely follow the actual situation to create the best conditions for candidates.
Master Nguyen Thi Kim Phung noted that from 2024 onwards, schools will consider early admission before the high school graduation exam with different methods such as high school transcripts, results of competency assessment exams, specialized assessment exams... However, the draft of the Ministry of Education and Training in 2025 has proposed an early admission framework but is limited to 20% of the target or may eliminate early admission altogether.
"However, candidates should not worry too much because whether they apply early or not, the schools' quotas remain the same. Students can still register by all methods in the general admission round. One thing to note is that in 2025, foreign languages will no longer be a compulsory subject in the high school graduation exam, so candidates who want to apply for a major with a foreign language must choose English for the graduation exam," Master Phung advised.
At this time, Master Truong Thi Ngoc Bich advises: Students should consider their learning ability and find out information about the majors of the schools they are interested in, information about tuition fees, scholarship policies, learning environment... to have a solid foundation, from which they can make the right choice for themselves.
Master Vo Ngoc Nhon advised students not to worry too much about whether there is still early admission or not and how many percent of the quota is early. "Because if there is early admission, it is considered as just a preliminary stage, students must pass the high school graduation exam and later still have to re-register their wishes on the system if they want to be officially admitted. In the general admission round, students can still use their high school transcripts and ability assessments for admission. Also, do not worry too much about which subjects are included in the subject group, but focus on fully preparing for the upcoming exams and admissions. The important thing is that students must try to focus on studying and reviewing knowledge carefully to achieve high scores," Master Nhon commented.
