This agreement marks an important step forward in establishing bilateral cooperation, aiming at training high-quality human resources and applying advanced technology to serve the Vietnamese railway industry.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Principal of the school, said that the University of Transport Technology under the Ministry of Construction, with more than 80 years of construction and development, has a lot of experience in training human resources in the traditional railway sector, including construction, management and exploitation.
However, electrification and high-speed railways are new fields with modern technology. It is necessary to learn from the experiences of major countries, including Korea.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long emphasized that, implementing the Party and Government's policy on promoting infrastructure development and railway electrification, the University of Transport Technology plays the role of an educational institution with the responsibility of advising, organizing training and research to serve the high-speed railway industry. Korea, with more than 20 years of strong development in this field, is an ideal partner for the University of Transport Technology to learn and cooperate.
Previously, the school signed a cooperation agreement with Vietnam Railway Corporation and Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company - key units assigned by the Ministry of Construction to prepare resources for the North-South high-speed railway project.
Recently, the University of Transport Technology and the delegation of the Vietnam Railway Corporation attended the Vietnam - Korea Railway Cooperation Forum organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea (MOLIT) in coordination with the Ministry of Construction. The forum is an opportunity to share valuable technology and experience from the Korean side.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long expressed his hope that in the near future, Korean high-speed rail technology will be applied in Vietnam and the University of Transport Technology will continue to receive support from KORAIL in training key staff and developing high-quality human resources.

According to Mr. Han Moon Hee, Chairman and General Director of KORAIL, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea in 1992, bilateral cooperation between the two countries has continuously developed strongly. In the railway sector, the two sides have had many practical cooperation programs.
KORAIL highly appreciates the role and potential of the University of Transport Technology in training and research.
"The signing of the cooperation agreement today is the first step in a long-term partnership in building training programs, sharing experts, transferring technology and providing technical support. Through this cooperation, both sides will build high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of implementing high-speed railway projects in Vietnam," Mr. Han Moon Hee emphasized.

According to the content of the Memorandum of Understanding, the two sides wish to implement cooperation in areas such as training, research and technology transfer.
Specifically, the University of Transport Technology and KORAIL will cooperate to develop specialized training programs on advanced railway technology, in line with the development trend of smart transport infrastructure. The two sides also commit to organizing professional seminars, academic exchange programs, sharing experts and experiences to improve the capacity of lecturers, staff and students.
In particular, a Joint Cooperation Committee will be established, tasked with coordinating, monitoring and promoting the implementation of cooperation contents under the Memorandum of Understanding. In particular, KORAIL will play the role of proposing and optimizing appropriate financial solutions to effectively implement cooperation projects, while the University of Transport Technology will take on the role of connecting with state management agencies, while creating favorable conditions in terms of facilities, human resources and legality.
Previously, on March 31, a delegation from the Korea Railroad Corporation and the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea (MOLIT) Park Sang Woo visited Vietnam and coordinated with the Ministry of Construction to organize the Vietnam - Korea Railway Cooperation Forum to share technology and experience from the Korean side.
The leaders of both units expressed their joy and expectations for a long-term, practical and effective cooperative relationship. This signing event not only contributes to improving the quality of training and research at the University of Transport Technology, but also opens up new opportunities for students and lecturers to access modern technologies and an international environment.
In 2025, the University of Transport Technology plans to enroll 6,000 students, including the majors of Highway Management, Operation and Maintenance; High-speed Railway Engineering Technology... This is a great opportunity for candidates who love the field of smart transportation, advanced technology and want to become the main human resource for national-scale infrastructure projects.
