At the high-level diplomatic reception and working session between the King and Queen with the leaders of Hai Phong City, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung expressed his great honor to welcome the King, Queen and high-ranking delegates of the Kingdom of Belgium.
According to Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung, the friendly and cooperative relations between Hai Phong and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Vietnam and with organizations and enterprises from Belgium have been constantly developing well. Dinh Vu Industrial Park Joint Stock Company is the first and largest cooperation project between a consortium of companies from the Kingdom of Belgium and Hai Phong, contributing significantly to the completion of the infrastructure of industrial parks and attracting investment in the city. This is considered a symbol of successful cooperation between the Kingdom of Belgium and Vietnam in general and with Hai Phong City in particular.
Along with that, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung introduced the potentials and outstanding advantages of Hai Phong, including being an important traffic and exchange hub between Vietnam and the world, including European countries. The city has been approved by the Vietnamese Government to establish the Southern Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone with an area of about 20,000 hectares. This is a comprehensive coastal economic zone following the model of green growth, circular economy, sustainable development, including a free trade zone with special preferential mechanisms and policies and some other contents.
Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung expressed his hope that the King and Queen will continue to pay attention to further developing the relationship between Hai Phong, Vietnam and the Kingdom of Belgium; Belgian enterprises will continue to research investment as well as promote connections, introduce Belgian investors with investment potential to Hai Phong, focusing on priority areas such as green development, logistics... The city is committed to creating all favorable conditions for investors to come and survey, learn about the investment environment, trade, tourism and seek opportunities for cooperation and development.
The King affirmed that his visit to Hai Phong demonstrated the good and proud relationship between the Kingdom of Belgium and the city. After the visit, the King will continue to carry out activities to promote more successful cooperation between the city and the Kingdom of Belgium, and at the same time wish Hai Phong with its enthusiasm will continue to achieve many successes as in the past years.
On this occasion, the King and Queen of Belgium visited Cat Ba Island; visited and worked at the Vinfast Automobile Factory and the Deep C Industrial Park Complex.
