USTH University adjusts some university admission criteria for 2025 to match the 2018 general education program.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology (USTH) said that the 2025-2026 school year will be the first year to welcome 12th graders graduating from high school according to the 2018 general education program, so the school's admission policy has many changes in terms of conditions and criteria for regular university admission compared to 2024. From February 6, USTH University began accepting university admission applications from candidates.
This year, USTH University adjusted the admission criteria to suit the students' abilities. The school added a number of subjects related to science and technology in the admission combination based on the results of the high school graduation exam. The number of subjects in the admission combination based on the method of using high school study results combined with interviews was reduced from 5 subjects of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and informatics to 3 subjects suitable to the requirements of each training program. The question bank for knowledge testing in the admission method based on the results of the capacity assessment exam organized by the school has also been built closely following the new program...
In 2025, the school plans to enroll 1,088 students for 17 single-degree programs (USTH degrees) and 3 Vietnamese-French dual-degree programs (1 degree from USTH and 1 degree from a French university).
Regarding admission methods, the school maintains 4 stable methods: PT1 is admission based on the results of the capacity assessment test organized by the school (allocated about 47% of the quota); PT2 is admission based on high school academic results combined with interviews (about 20% of the quota); PT3 is direct admission according to the school's project (about 3% of the quota); PT4 is admission based on high school graduation exam results (about 30% of the quota).
The aviation engineering program is admitted through PT1, PT2 and PT3. Other single degree programs are admitted through all 4 methods (PT1, PT2, PT3 and PT4). In particular, the dual degree programs will only be admitted based on the results of the school's competency assessment test (PT1).
