The new book Bill Gates' Source Code (translated by Mai Chi Trung, published by Tre Publishing House) is a very personal story, interspersed with memories of his family, friends and important events in his later career. The book's title is Bill Gates' dedication to his family: "In memory of my parents Bill Gates and Mary Maxwell Gates, and to my sisters Kristi and Libby."

Bill Gates’ success cannot be summed up in a simple sentence: “Dropped out of school to found Microsoft”, but it was a difficult and deliberate decision. “I told myself that the industry was finally starting to take off and we were far from falling behind. I felt that being a college student and managing a software company was getting more and more out of hand… Paul and I shared the same vision, and we worked well together when it came to technology issues and hiring people to develop the software. But all of that would have been for nothing if the business foundation wasn’t solid. Keeping Microsoft running was a lonely job…”
Sharing with readers on the Gatesnotes website, Bill Gates recalled the first time he spoke in public in 1976, when he was 20 years old and Microsoft had only been founded for a year. At that time, his audience consisted of a few hundred computer enthusiasts. Over the following years, he gradually lost the nervousness he felt when he first spoke, and could comfortably speak in front of tens of thousands of people on many issues, from technology to health and the environment, except for one topic: himself.
He admits that he is a person who tends to want to maintain privacy. At the age of 70, when his children were grown and pursuing their own paths, he recalled what he had experienced, pondered what made him who he is today, and Source Code can be considered his first memoir, and it is also the first time Bill Gates shared many private things, instead of issues related to society and career.
Bill Gates frankly admitted his advantages in his first memoir: “Success stories often confine people to familiar characters: the child prodigy, the genius engineer, the unconventional designer, the unconventional tycoon. In my case, I succeeded because of a unique set of circumstances - most of which were beyond my control - that shaped both my personality and my career.”
