Thai midfielder challenges: Is the Vietnamese team afraid of us?

The Thai team beat the Philippines 3-1 after 120 minutes, to win a ticket to the final of the AFF Cup 2024 with a total score of 4-3.

Immediately after the match, Thai midfielder Chalermsak Aukkee sent a challenging message to the Vietnamese team: “Currently, our spirit is very high. We are not afraid of meeting the Vietnamese team right on their home field. The question is whether the Vietnamese team is afraid of us? Especially Nguyen Xuan Son, the player who scored the most goals for the Vietnamese team, will have to face Jonathan Khemdee. I believe Jonathan is much stronger” .

Before the semi-final, Chalermsak Aukkee declared that he would make the Filipino players cry because they could not reach the final. However, after the match, Chalermsak Aukkee highly appreciated the performance of the Filipino players.

“We are confident of winning. What I said is not meant to offend the Philippine team, because they have a good coach, the players all trust his tactics, ” Chalermsak Aukkee declared.

“ I feel very happy, like a burden has been lifted. However, I also feel that the words I said earlier were like pressure. I have to thank my teammates for fighting with all their might, which makes me very emotional. The Philippines is a strong team and has made obvious progress. I hope that in the next 2 years, we will meet the Philippines again in the finals ,” Chalermsak Aukkee continued.

The first leg of the AFF Cup final between Vietnam and Thailand will take place at 8:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025 at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho). The second leg of the final between the two teams will take place on January 5, 2025 at Rajamangala Stadium.
