The Provincial People's Committee has just approved the task outline for implementing the red lingzhi mushroom growing model under the canopy of hybrid acacia and coffee forests in 2024.
The model will be deployed in the mountainous district of Huong Hoa in 2024. People participating in the project will be supported with seeds, materials, fertilizers and activities to implement the model; in which, 70% of the cost of buying red ganoderma seeds, irrigation systems, protective steel nets, technical support for monitoring and directing the model... will be supported.
The results of the pilot planting model will be the basis for assessing the suitability, developing a process for planting and caring for red reishi mushrooms under the canopy of planted forests and some other crops, thereby serving as a basis for recommending replication in the coming time.
It is known that red reishi mushrooms have high medicinal properties and many active ingredients with nutritional content that are beneficial to health. This type of mushroom can be used fresh, dried or ground into powder for food or medicine. In addition to providing a source of valuable medicinal plants with high economic value, after harvesting the mushrooms, the roots decompose in the soil to become an extremely good source of organic fertilizer, contributing to protecting the soil, water and environment.
Currently, many localities such as Dak Nong, Dong Nai... have grown red lingzhi mushrooms under the forest canopy and brought high economic efficiency, creating livelihoods under the forest canopy for people, especially ethnic minorities, contributing to increasing income for people living near the forest, limiting encroachment and deforestation.
