(NLDO) - Each preschool child is an "ambassador" presenting about the school, telling stories about Uncle Ho, about the good deeds of "young people doing small things".


On December 12, the Department of Education and Training of District 1 organized the "Good Children Flower" festival in 2024 with the theme "Good children follow Uncle Ho's 5 teachings". This is an annual festival to exchange between preschool students of schools in District 1, sharing educational methods and good practices between units.

Every preschool child is an "ambassador" of the school he or she attends.

This year's festival featured many unique and meaningful performances by preschool children. At the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space exhibition area, each preschool child was an "ambassador" presenting about the school they were studying at, the good deeds they had strived for and done to receive the "good child flower" award. The confidence and professionalism of each child surprised and delighted the attendees.

Presenting about the good deeds of their friends at school, students of Le Thi Rieng Kindergarten said: "At my school, the student who gets the most good flower will be given a gift in class and another gift from the principal, I was given 5 times. At school, we read poems about Uncle Ho, raise money to support friends in flood-hit areas and friends who don't have money to go to school, we also know how to sort trash and love trees..."

The festival also witnessed many solemn and emotional competitions by teachers and students of kindergartens expressing their love for Uncle Ho through reading poems, rhymes, stories about Uncle Ho, especially stories about Uncle Ho with children, about Uncle Ho's example, about the 5 things Uncle Ho taught...

The festival attracted more than 500 preschool students in District 1.

Ms. Tran Duc Hanh Quynh, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of District 1, said that with this year's theme, the Department of Education and Training aims to promote propaganda and spread the study of Uncle Ho in preschools, especially educating preschool children to express their feelings and love for Uncle Ho through literary works, stories, songs, and poems.

The Department of Education and Training of District 1 has also deployed to units to build Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space at schools to help students better understand the ideological values, ethics, and style of President Ho Chi Minh; be proud to be born and raised in the city named after Uncle Ho; from there, students voluntarily practice the 5 teachings of Uncle Ho.

"For preschool education in particular, units proactively integrate into preschool education programs through simple content suitable for the characteristics of each age group; at the same time, educate children through specific, practical actions, close to children's daily lives and activities" - the leader of the Department of Education and Training of District 1 emphasized.

On the same day, more than 500 students from kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools in District 1 visited and learned about the living and training regime of soldiers at the District 1 Military Command (HCMC). The activity lasted for 2 days, December 12 and 13, with more than 1,000 students participating.

According to Ms. Bui Thi Thuy Hien, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of District 1 Party Committee, in order to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), the Propaganda Department coordinated with the Department of Education and Training, the Military Command and the District 1 Cultural - Sports Center to organize propaganda and agitation activities, creating conditions for students to visit military barracks.

Many students expressed their excitement when viewing the photo exhibition "Honor and pride to be a soldier of the Vietnam People's Army" at the District 1 Military Command barracks. In addition, students also learned about some types of weapons, production activities at the barracks such as growing vegetables, raising fish... Besides visiting directly, students also viewed the exhibition online to better understand the history of formation and development as well as the activities of the people's army.

In addition to educating about the significance of the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army, the tour also helps students learn about the discipline of soldiers, understand more about the work of militia and army forces, thereby training them in patriotism, discipline and solidarity.
