"I draw a vaccination hero with VNVC" is a drawing contest for children on the topic of vaccination, the image of heroes, heroes, doctors, nurses, and medical staff in the fight against viruses, bacteria, and health protection, the first in Vietnam.
Carrying the message "Vaccines are a shield to protect children, especially children in mountainous areas, from diseases", the drawing by young author Huynh Ngoc Tue Tam (Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) describes bacteria and viruses as "demons" that are always present in daily life.
Tue Tam explained that the painting was inspired by watching the news and seeing children in the highlands suffering from many dangerous infectious diseases due to not being fully vaccinated. Therefore, the young author wishes that doctors and nurses would appear everywhere to vaccinate, eliminating the epidemic so that children are always happy and healthy. Vaccines help every child become a "superhero".
Choosing to draw ethnic minority children in mountainous areas excitedly getting vaccinated, the painting by Lo Ngoc Bao Tran (11 years old, grade 5, Chau Tien Primary School, Quy Chau district, Nghe An), a Thai ethnic, made a strong impression and emotion.
Bao Tran shared a painting inspired by the time Thai ethnic people in her village were vaccinated against COVID-19 by medical staff. Tran hopes that all children in all regions of the country, including children in mountainous areas with difficult circumstances, will be fully vaccinated against the disease. The colorful rainbow in the painting symbolizes a bright future when everyone is protected by vaccines.
At the closing and award ceremony, the vaccination system officially released the first photo book and online photo book in Vietnam on the topic of vaccination, gathering hundreds of impressive and vivid paintings from nearly 10,000 drawings participating in the contest.
The photo book will not only be a place to preserve the impressive paintings on the topic of vaccination of the first season of the contest, but the book will also be a meaningful gift for children and adults in many events of the vaccination system to help the community and children access and understand the innocent but meaningful messages of children about the important role of vaccination, through the language of painting.
The contest "Draw a vaccination hero with VNVC" took place over 3 months with many valuable activities, including organizing consulting programs, sharing knowledge about vaccines, vaccination and drawing workshops for nearly 50,000 students at more than 200 schools across the country.
Through these activities, the system also donated more than 20,000 doses of various vaccines to children across the country to have the opportunity to receive high-quality vaccines at nearly 200 vaccination centers.
Accompanying the "little heroes" right from the first days of launching the contest, Dr. Bach Thi Chinh, medical director of the VNVC Vaccination System, shared that the "little" contestants are typical representatives of the young generation and teenagers of Vietnam. The children have sent their thoughts, feelings, and wishes for a better world, where all children have the right to be fully vaccinated, develop physically and mentally healthy, this is also the mission that the system has been, is and will always aim for.
"The VNVC vaccination system is making every effort every day and every hour to be present in every part of the country, to bring the opportunity to get high-quality, safe, and reasonably priced vaccinations to every household, especially children, to repel dangerous infectious diseases, contributing to bringing a better life to the community," said Dr. Chinh.
