NDO - On the afternoon of December 18, within the framework of Ho Chi Minh City Innovation and Startup Week 2024 (WHISE 2024), the Final Round of the Smart City 2024 Competition - Smart City Building Initiative officially took place.
The highlight of this year’s competition is the expansion of the competition field. The biotechnology application table was included in the competition for the first time, creating a difference thanks to its high applicability and ability to solve urgent problems of modern cities.
In addition, the competition also has a competition board for students with the theme of assembling and programming robots to help them have early access to STEM education, apply knowledge in science, technology, engineering and mathematics in specific contexts, connect between schools, communities, workplaces and global organizations, thereby developing competencies in the STEM field and being able to compete in the new economy.
In the final results, group A is for projects applying digital transformation in smart urban construction, the first prize belongs to the project of developing a website to screen for congenital hemolytic anemia Thalassemia based on artificial intelligence platform, with a prize of 50 million VND.

Second prize (1 prize) worth 30 million VND belongs to Drone Soccer Vietnam Project - Smart education and training system in the field of drones; Third prize (1 prize) worth 20 million VND belongs to VierCycle project - Electric bicycle ecosystem.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded two consolation prizes, each worth 10 million VND, to the E-Motion project - Electric power steering and the 5Sao project - Number one application connecting the construction industry, home care, minor repairs, and calling contractors.
Group B is for projects applying biotechnology associated with green transformation and double transformation. The first prize worth 30 million VND belongs to the Project of Producing High-Density Probiotics and Applying Probiotics to Create Biological Products for Environmental Protection in Agriculture.
A second prize worth 20 million VND went to the Bio Garlic HD Project - a project on fermented microbial products from black garlic: a green solution for the Vietnamese poultry industry; a third prize (1 prize) worth 10 million VND went to the Oncology USH project - Building software to help diagnose early, predict, and treat liver cancer.

Student board: the first prize for the primary school board belongs to Nam Sai Gon Primary-Middle-High School; the first prize for the secondary school board belongs to Robot Academy, Hoc Mon district; the first prize for the high school board belongs to Thu Duc High School.
Smart City 2024 Competition - Smart City Building Initiative is an annual innovation and startup competition at the City High-Tech Park, organized by the High-Tech Business Incubator (SHTP-IC).
Before the final round, SHTP-IC successfully implemented and organized intensive training programs, preliminary and semi-final rounds to select the best teams.

The Smart City 2024 competition is of great significance in exploring the potential of the young intellectual community and technology start-up projects and businesses. Thereby, creating human resources to implement the development orientation of building smart cities.
The competition attracted more than 100 participating projects, of which more than 60 potential projects were selected, including technology startups and projects from universities.
Through the competition, projects are completed and developed with ideas and products, and supported to participate in the pre-incubation program at SHTP-IC.
