Reporting at the Conference, Mr. Le Duy Tan - Head of Secondary Education Department, Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that in the 2024 - 2025 school year, the city is expected to increase by 24,097 students (including: 17,288 public and 6,809 non-public). Divided by level, preschool increased by 6,262 students; primary school decreased by 6,185 students; secondary school increased by 7,022 students; high school increased the most with 16,999 students.
Regarding the scale of the school and classroom network, the whole city has 2,295 schools, including 1,357 public schools and 938 non-public schools.
In terms of achievements in exams, Ho Chi Minh City students always have high rankings. Specifically, in the National High School Science and Technology Competition, for the first time, Ho Chi Minh City students won the highest prize after 12 consecutive years of participating in this playground.
