Ho Chi Minh City is managing more than 9.5 million vehicles, of which nearly 8.5 million are motorbikes.

Although the emission inspection roadmap has not been implemented since January 1, 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City transport sector has made preparations so that people are not surprised.

According to Mr. Tran Vo Anh Minh - Deputy Head of the Department of Technical Management of Transport Vehicles and Application of Science and Technology (under the Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City), the issue of motorbike emission inspection is a complicated task, requiring careful preparation in terms of both facilities and human resources to meet the great needs of the people.

Based on the study of the circular's content, the Department is in the process of developing an implementation plan.

In the immediate future, the Department will focus on disseminating and popularizing regulations so that people can clearly understand the policies and legal regulations on motorbike emission inspection, thereby raising awareness of compliance.

Next, the Department worked with 19 current vehicle inspection facilities in the city to propose a review and plan to invest in additional inspection equipment and personnel.

In addition, the Department also works with the Vietnam Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers and major companies to mobilize the motorcycle maintenance and repair system at distribution agents to participate in emission testing.

Mobilizing these facilities to participate is expected to become the main resource, ensuring to meet people's inspection needs in the coming time.
