On the morning of June 24, some areas west of Ho Chi Minh City experienced widespread heavy rain. According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, through monitoring satellite cloud images, weather radar images and lightning positioning, it was shown that the area of ​​thunderstorms was developing and causing rain with thunderstorms and lightning in the Long An and Tien Giang areas, with a tendency to move towards Ho Chi Minh City.

It is forecasted that in the next 3 hours, thunderstorms will continue to develop, causing showers, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in the West - Northwest areas of Ho Chi Minh City, then expanding towards the central districts, Thu Duc City and the South of the city. Rainfall is generally from 5 - 15mm, in some places over 25mm. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, hail and strong gusts of wind of about level 5 - 7 (8 - 17m/s).

The lowest temperature is from 23 - 26 degrees Celsius, the highest is from 29 - 32 degrees Celsius.

“Beware of the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas. Beware of heavy rain in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind” – the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting recommends.
