The city's education sector has made breakthroughs in digital transformation, helping to improve the quality of teaching and learning. Currently, 100% of schools in the area have deployed digital data management platforms, helping to connect information quickly and accurately. The digitization of more than 3,000 learning materials has supported teachers in building electronic lectures, innovating teaching methods, and improving students' knowledge acquisition efficiency.
In particular, the implementation of electronic report cards in primary schools helps reduce administrative work for teachers, creating favorable conditions for parents to monitor their children's learning results. The rate of non-cash tuition payment reaches 100%, reducing time and effort for parents when making payments.
The city organizes training sessions to help teachers access digital technology in teaching. STEM models are widely applied in teaching Science, Mathematics and Technology. 100% of schools use learning management software such as Olm.vn, Azota, Padlet, Classroom to support teaching and connect teachers with students. Notably, from the 2024-2025 school year, the city will implement a digital citizenship skills education program for primary school students. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Uong Bi City, shared: Digital citizenship skills education is an important step to help students get acquainted with technology early, while improving their self-study, creativity and self-protection skills in the digital environment. In the coming time, the industry will continue to implement this program for all students in the area, ensuring that they have the opportunity to access and develop digital skills comprehensively.
The healthcare sector has also seen many innovations with the strong application of science and technology and digital transformation, helping people access healthcare services more quickly and effectively. Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital is a pioneer in implementing digital solutions, improving the quality of medical examination and treatment. Electronic medical records are applied, software for online medical examination registration, online results return and cashless hospital fee payment; chip-embedded citizen identification cards and electronic health books on VNeID help people easily manage their health records. The hospital connects data of important medical documents according to Project 06 of the Government, ensuring transparency and convenience.
The hospital constantly applies high technology in medical examination and treatment, prioritizing minimally invasive methods such as endoscopic surgery, vascular intervention, embolization, etc., helping patients recover quickly, reducing hospital stay and treatment costs. Modern imaging diagnostic systems (X-ray, CT scan, MRI) support early detection of dangerous diseases. In particular, the online consultation model between Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital and central hospitals helps improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment.
At the grassroots health care level, doctors and nurses at health centers and health stations are also regularly trained in IT, helping to improve professional capacity and the quality of medical services.
The applications of science and technology and digital transformation have brought clear benefits to the people. Digitalization in education helps improve learning efficiency, reduce workload for teachers and create convenience for parents. Digital transformation in healthcare helps shorten the time for medical examination and treatment, increase transparency, reduce costs and improve service quality. These achievements are a testament to the determination of local authorities in implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, towards an advanced education system, a modern and more effective healthcare system for the people.
