Ho Chi Minh City launches information portal for managing extra teaching and learning

In particular, the Department of Education and Training is responsible for managing all administrative accounts of the Department of Education and Training, People's Committees of wards, communes, towns, general schools, and tutoring facilities. The local People's Committee manages detailed information of tutoring centers in the area and supervises the activities of the centers, ensuring compliance with regulations.

The tutoring center organizes the registration, monitoring and management of tutoring activities according to regulations. Schools monitor and manage information of teachers and students who register for tutoring in the school. Tutoring teachers manage the number, basic information of teachers, teaching centers, teaching methods, etc. for each unit and the list of teachers teaching their students at the center. Parents of students use this portal to monitor information and register for tutoring online.

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training provides an overview of data and tutoring activities across the city through statistics and visual charts.

With this portal, you can view all detailed information of general schools and tutoring facilities operating in the city.

With this portal, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training plans to collect statistics on violations of regulations on extra teaching and learning for each case of teachers and extra teaching centers. At the same time, efforts are made to manage the amount of basic information of teachers, teaching centers, and teaching forms for each unit.

Regarding the curriculum, duration, and time for extra teaching and learning, it is implemented according to Clause 4, Article 3 of Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDDT; appropriate, ensuring the health of students. There is a plan to organize extra teaching, a plan to teach extra subjects to ensure the provisions of Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDDT.

Regarding the teaching staff and professional qualifications: Teachers must meet the standards prescribed by the Law on Education and Circular 29. Teachers are encouraged to participate in training programs to improve their professional skills.

Teaching skills: Proficient in modern teaching methods, IT application. Enhance the ability to guide and support students in developing soft skills.

Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training regulating extra teaching and learning officially took effect from February 14, 2025. Notably, the following points are: No extra teaching is organized for primary school students, except in the following cases: Arts, physical education, life skills training; teachers teaching at schools are not allowed to teach extra classes outside of school with fees for students that the teacher is assigned by the school to teach according to the school's education plan; teachers at public schools are not allowed to participate in the management and operation of extra teaching outside of school, but can participate in extra teaching outside of school.

In addition, the Ministry of Education and Training also stipulates: Extra teaching and learning in schools must not collect money from students and is only for students who register for extra classes for each subject as follows: Students whose study results for the last subject of the adjacent semester are not satisfactory; Students selected by the school to foster excellent students; Final year students voluntarily register to review for entrance exams and graduation exams according to the school's educational plan.
