Lighting up the dream of rehabilitation for 300 prisoners at Cay Cay Prison

On the afternoon of April 18, in Tay Ninh, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union coordinated with the Department of Police Management of Prisons, Compulsory Education Facilities, and Reformatory Schools (Ministry of Public Security), the Youth Committee of the People's Public Security, the Vietnam Youth Union of Tay Ninh Province, and Cay Cay Prison to organize the Central-level program "Lighting up the Dream of Reformation" in 2025 for 300 prisoners.

At the program, comrade Nguyen Kim Quy, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, said: In recent times, the program "Lighting up the dream of rehabilitation" has been implemented by all levels of the association across the country with many practical and effective contents aimed at young prisoners. The program is a concrete activity to coordinate the work of educating, reforming, and helping young prisoners and inmates reintegrate into the community in the period of 2021-2025 between the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and the Ministry of Public Security .

The coordination program for the period 2021 - 2025 focuses on groups of contents such as propaganda, raising awareness and responsibility of all levels of the association and of young people for the workof educating and reforming prisoners and inmates of young age and helping them reintegrate into the community; organizing activities of counseling, legal aid, psychology, civic education, life skills, life values ​​and health care for prisoners, inmates of young age and children under 36 months old who are children of prisoners living with their mothers in prisons; organizing career guidance and vocational training activities for prisoners and inmates of young age...

Thereby, contributing to building a healthy educational environment, helping prisoners and inmates of young age to eliminate their inferiority complex, feel secure in their rehabilitation, have faith, determination, will to rise up, actively study, work to improve, wish to soon return to the community and become useful people for society.

At the same time, the program also equips prisoners with knowledge about life and law so that they can strive to reform, enjoy humane and lenient policies of the state, return to their families soon, confidently integrate into the community and live a useful life...

During the 5 years of implementing the coordination program for the period 2021 - 2025, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union has carried out many practical activities, effectively supporting prisoners across the country. More than 1,500 gifts were presented with a total value of nearly 1 billion VND; 94 vocational training classes were organized for over 3,200 prisoners; more than 2,500 prisoners received free medical examinations, treatment and medicine. In addition, the program has also provided psychological and legal counseling and job connections for more than 13,000 prisoners after serving their sentences.

On this occasion, the program's Organizing Committee presented gifts to 30 young prisoners with good achievements in labor, reform and training. The Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union also presented youth works, including a sound system (worth 50 million VND) and books to the prison; organized a program to exchange, share, and provide psychological counseling to prisoners and organized exchange activities between prisoners and artists of the Ho Chi Minh City Artist Volunteer Team.
