Ho Chi Minh City stimulates inter-regional tourism at the end of the year

The launching ceremony of Tourism Week 2024 was held with a series of activities in the small island area in front of the Ben Thanh market relic gate such as: electric car and bicycle parade, tourism exhibition, traditional - cultural - entertainment activities...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - emphasized that throughout the week, cultural - artistic, sports, culinary activities, new tour introductions... also took place diversely and enthusiastically throughout Ho Chi Minh City.

Information spaces promoting tourism - culture - music - art in Thu Duc city and districts are designed with the unique characteristics of each locality.

In particular, residents and visitors will learn about the culture, tourism, history, and geography of each district in a lively and interesting way through quiz games using AR (Augmented Reality) technology. This is also one of the city's tourism industry's efforts in applying technology to promote tourism.

From 6pm to 7pm and 8pm to 9pm from December 5 to 8, many special art performances will take place at the main stage of Ben Thanh Market relic area. Visitors to the Ho Chi Minh City tourism booths will experience many folk games with many attractive gifts.

Also according to the vice chairman of the city People's Committee, after 4 times of organization, since Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week, the entire Southern region has connected to organize inter-regional tourism stimulus activities at the end of the year, in order to increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of Southern tourism with other countries in the region.

Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week is oriented to create a series of events on tourism - sports - music rich in experiences to serve the community, domestic and international tourists during the year-end festival season, gradually forming an annual traditional activity of the tourism industry.

"The activities will inspire discovery and experience for domestic and international tourists," said Mr. Dung.

The event also creates an opportunity for the city's tourism businesses to introduce products, services and promotional activities at the end of the year and the beginning of the new year to local people and tourists.

Based on the quantity and quality of cultural, artistic, sports and musical activities organized by each district, the Tourism Week Organizing Committee will have attractive prizes to encourage creativity as well as positive response from the districts.

Including the awards: "Lively Festival" Destination; Most Outstanding Destination; Most Favorite Destination, Greenest Destination, Vibrant Media Destination, Creative Destination, Friendly Destination. These awards will be announced by the Department of Tourism at the industry summary conference, scheduled to be held at the end of 2024.
