The Democratic Party has made a new move after negative public opinion about the debate between US President Joe Biden and Republican opponent Donald Trump on June 27.

On July 1, Bloomberg reported that the Democratic National Committee is considering nominating Joe Biden as the US presidential candidate in mid-July instead of waiting until the national convention in August.
The move is aimed at quelling talk of a younger candidate being replaced after President Joe Biden's lackluster performance in the debate with Republican rival Donald Trump on June 27.
Why does the debate lose points?
During the 90-minute debate, former President Trump, 78, attacked his opponent by repeating a series of baseless claims, including the claim that he actually won the 2020 election.
The 81-year-old incumbent President Biden has failed to refute his opponent’s claims. His performance has sparked a wave of calls from Democrats to replace their party’s nominee and criticism of his campaign aides.
President Biden's disappointing performance was explained by the fact that he was overworked and not guaranteed a good state to enter the debate.
US media quoted Mr. Biden's assistant team as saying: "My only request was to make sure he was rested before the debate, but he was exhausted. He was not well. It was a bad decision to let him go out looking sick and exhausted."
“I believe he overrehearsed,” said Florida-based lawyer John Morgan, who is a major fundraiser for Biden. He also criticized senior aide Anita Dunn and other aides for putting Biden in a position that was favorable to Trump and said the team deserved to be fired.
President Biden's debate strategy was approved by Jen O'Malley Dillon, who helped Mr. Biden win in 2020.
Anita Dunn, a longtime Biden aide and campaign strategist for former President Barack Obama, has backed the debate strategy.
Ahead of the debate, Democrats were confident because Republican rival Trump was convicted of document falsification by a jury in New York on May 31.
Advisers have set a strict schedule for Mr. Biden to prepare for the debate. According to multiple sources, the current US President has been "stationed" at Camp David for 6 days.
He has been on a series of trips abroad to project his image as a strong leader on the world stage. President Biden flew to France, returned to the US, then to Italy for the G7 Summit and flew back to the West Coast in the first two weeks of June, before taking a few days off in his home state of Delaware.
When Mr. Biden and his aides arrived at Camp David six days before the debate, aides said he had a lot of work to do.
On the Republican side, having more free time than his opponent, Mr. Trump only needs to focus on complaining about the current administration, while Mr. Biden needs to prepare information to respond.
Many experts say that the advisory team should focus on the larger vision that President Biden needs to convey to the country, instead of exhausting the leader after a series of foreign trips.

Continue the race
In response to calls for Mr. Biden to consider dropping out of the 2024 White House race, the incumbent US President and his top aides expressed their determination not to give up.
At fundraisers and on social media, the White House and Biden himself have insisted the president has no intention of dropping out of the race, while Democrats have generally signaled support for Biden to continue serving as their representative.
Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.), a top ally credited with Biden’s 2020 South Carolina primary victory, expressed sympathy for the debate and blamed it on overpreparation.
“I’ve been involved in debate prep before and I know what it’s like to be overwhelmed with prep,” Clyburn told CNN . “And that’s exactly what happened.”
Meanwhile, the White House has strongly denied that the Biden family discussed the future of the campaign during a June 30 gathering at Camp David. The gathering at Camp David was a family photo shoot with photographer Annie Leibovitz and not a discussion about whether the current President should drop out of the race.
At the same time, many Democrats have signaled that they are ready to rally behind him as a candidate.
Sources close to the candidate's campaign also revealed that the President has no intention of resigning and he will continue to fight harder to prove those who doubt him wrong.
“Biden remains adamant that he is the best person we have to defeat Trump,” a source said.
On the other hand, Jen O'Malley Dillon, who is in charge of Mr. Biden's campaign, pointed to the $33 million raised in the 72 hours after the debate as evidence of continued donor support.
The June 27 debate is considered an important moment in the US presidential election campaign. Although the two parties did not change their candidates, the results of the recent debate require Mr. Biden and his team to review and learn from their experiences to score better in the upcoming debates.
