Over the past 50 years, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Austria has had a solid foundation and achieved many achievements in all three aspects of politics, economy and culture - people-to-people exchange.

In the structure of Vietnam's exports to Austria, telecommunications equipment and mobile phones account for a large proportion. Some of the products that Austria is importing a lot from Vietnam are unroasted coffee (from Vietnam, Brazil and Honduras), roasted coffee (from Germany and Italy) because Austria is a country with a coffee drinking culture recognized by UNESCO as a cultural heritage and a developed tourism industry. Fresh and frozen seafood from Vietnam is also a product that Austria is interested in because Austria is landlocked.

In addition, the economies of the two countries are considered to be very complementary to each other as Austria has technology and high management skills, while Vietnam has a large market, an open economy as a gateway to Southeast Asia and Asia, and a young, dynamic and creative workforce.
