The high-quality giant freshwater prawn farming model in Chuong Xa commune belongs to the National Target Program on New Rural Development, with a scale of 20 hectares with the participation of 23 households. Participating in the model, people are trained and guided to apply VietGap standard processes in a synchronous manner; actively record diary entries; how to use aerators to create oxygen for the pond system and periodically use microbial products to improve water quality, ensuring that environmental factors such as: pH, Oxygen, HH3, NO2... are always within the allowable range for shrimp growth.

After 5 months of implementing the model, it has been shown that giant freshwater prawns have good and uniform growth rates, high survival rates, and no disease outbreaks. During the farming process, people have reduced farming costs due to good control of input materials, reduced disease risks, and good waste management, creating products with stable quality, meeting food safety requirements; thereby contributing to improving product quality, building the "Cam Khe Giant freshwater prawn" brand; at the same time, increasing competitiveness, tracing the origin, and easily accessing the market, creating linkages in the production and consumption of giant freshwater prawn products according to the value chain.

The high-quality giant freshwater prawn farming model in Chuong Xa commune brings high economic efficiency.

According to preliminary assessment and accounting, currently the price of giant freshwater prawn ranges from 200,000 - 250,000 VND/kg, the profit reaches over 140 million VND/ha, higher than raising other aquatic species from 50-70 million VND/ha.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Tu Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development proposed that the Department of Fisheries together with localities continue to expand and improve the quality of giant freshwater prawn farming areas according to VietGAP standards, focusing on applying high technology, minimizing water pollution and implementing product consumption linkages.

Support trade promotion activities, build points for introducing and selling fresh products, promote "Cam Khe green-legged shrimp" products to expand the consumption market. Continue to pay attention to allocating resources to build and expand other farming areas with scales and farming objects suitable to the soil and climate of each region. Strengthen information and propaganda work, replicate good and effective models and practices for people to apply in production, strive to have the farming area of ​​specialties and aquatic objects with high economic value in the province reach over 65% by 2024.
