The 3rd workshop on the outline of the history of the provincial military party (1945)

Attending the workshop were representatives of the heads and leaders of the Military Science Department of Military Region 9; Mr. Tran Binh Trong, former member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, former Head of the Propaganda Department of Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee; representatives of the Department of Science and Technology; the Western Cultural Center, the Southern Khmer Language and Culture and Arts School (under Tra Vinh University); former heads of the Provincial Military Command through the periods, Colonel Truong Van Tham, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, Head of the topic.

At the workshop, Colonel Truong Van Tham, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, Head of the project, said: After 2 workshops to contribute ideas to the draft, the research team has now completed the draft according to the opinions of delegates, historical witnesses, and conclusions from previous workshops...

After this workshop, the research team will continue to receive comments and complete the content for the council to self-evaluate. If the requirements are met, they will be compiled and reported to the provincial scientific council for final acceptance. If the results are met, the research team will proceed with the official publishing and distribution contract to serve the work of party building, in the political system from the province to the grassroots and put into the library system, the education system to propagate and educate the revolutionary tradition in the armed forces, all classes of people; as well as promote the value of the Party's history in the work of building the homeland of Tra Vinh increasingly rich and beautiful.

Colonel Truong Van Tham, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, Head of the project, delivered a report to introduce the workshop.

According to the summary report on the manuscript presented by Colonel Nguyen Trong Duong, a member of the research team, at the workshop titled: History of the Military Party Committee of Tra Vinh Province (period 1945 - 2020).

The structure of the work includes: Introduction by the Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee; preface by the Provincial Military Party Committee. The main content includes 05 chapters: (1) The land and people of Tra Vinh, the birth of the Party's predecessor organizations in the revolutionary armed forces; (2) Building the Party organization to lead the armed forces in the resistance war against France (1945 - 1954); (3) Activities of the organization leading the armed forces in political struggle, overcoming difficulties, self-liberating Tra Vinh province, contributing to the liberation of the South, unifying the country; (4) The Provincial Military Party Committee after the complete liberation of the South, carrying out the task of building and defending the Fatherland; the Southwestern border war and carrying out international tasks to help Cambodia (1976 - 1991); (5) The Provincial Military Party Committee in building a comprehensively strong armed force; performing local defense and military tasks in the period of integration and development (1992 - 2020).

Comrade Tran Binh Trong, former member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, former Head of the Propaganda Department of Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee, gave a speech at the workshop.

Based on the reports and discussions, the majority of delegates agreed and highly appreciated the preparation work, as well as the acceptance and editing of comments through 2 workshops, and the addition of documents and artifacts collected in the past to complete the report for today's workshop.

These are valuable documents, historical evidences about the formation, development and activities of the History of the Military Party Committee of Tra Vinh Province. From there, lessons can be drawn, contributing to the theory and practice of Party building work of the Military Party Committee of the province.

In his concluding remarks at the workshop, Colonel Phan Minh Hung, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, acknowledged the enthusiastic and responsible contributions of the leaders, former leaders, and delegates attending the workshop. The contributions at the workshop will be studied and supplemented to complete the content of the historical outline. After completing the compilation, the Provincial Military Command directed the Content Committee to submit it to the competent authorities for appraisal and request a publishing license.

The Commander emphasized that the research and compilation of the History of the Provincial Military Party Committee is very necessary, helping to systematize the process of formation, construction, development and growth of the Provincial Military Party Committee; the steps to complete the Party's leadership mechanism for the local armed forces. Along with that, affirming the typical achievements and feats; drawing out the advantages, limitations, and lessons learned, contributing to serving well the leadership and direction of the Provincial Military Party Committee in the new situation.
