The Ministry of Construction's working group inspected the implementation of the project of 1 million social housing apartments in Bac Ninh province.

On the afternoon of April 1, the inspection delegation of the Ministry of Construction led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh had a working session with Bac Ninh province on the implementation of the project of 1 million social housing apartments in the province. Receiving and working with the delegation were Mr. Ngo Tan Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of relevant departments and branches.

The delegation inspected the social housing project in Viet Hung ward, Que Vo town; the social housing area of ​​Que Vo urban area project in Pho Moi town, Que Vo town; the worker housing and commercial and service area of ​​Yen Phong Industrial Park in Dong Tien commune, Yen Phong district; and the Thong Nhat Smart City social housing area in Yen Trung commune, Yen Phong district.

According to the province's report, up to now, Bac Ninh province has implemented 54 social housing projects, with a total land area of ​​about 173 hectares. When completed, the projects will provide about 7.1 million square meters of floor space with more than 77,000 apartments, providing accommodation for about 231,000 people. Of which, 16 projects have been completed or partially completed, providing about 10,200 apartments. Implementing the 1 million apartment project, from 2021 to 2024, the whole province has 10 completed projects, providing about 7,025 apartments; 16 projects have been granted construction permits and are under construction investment, when completed, will provide about 15,000 apartments, it is expected that 10,686 apartments will be completed in 2025; 22 projects are carrying out compensation, site clearance and preparing for construction investment, when completed will meet the demand of about 52,000 apartments.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong said that in recent times, Bac Ninh province has directed and developed programs, projects, and policy mechanisms to encourage economic organizations to participate in investing in social housing development. In particular, after the Housing Law 2023 took effect, the Provincial People's Committee promptly directed the promulgation of policies and legal regulations, and established a Steering Committee to remove difficulties and obstacles, promote the development of social housing, and promptly remove difficulties and obstacles throughout the process of investment, construction, and real estate business.

During the implementation process, Bac Ninh has selected potential, capable, responsible and dedicated investors, so the projects in the area have been implemented well. To complete the project of 1 million social housing apartments in the province, he hopes that the Ministry of Construction and other central ministries and branches will pay attention to creating conditions and guidance for Bac Ninh to fulfill the targets assigned by the Prime Minister on social housing. The province will continue to listen to the opinions of investors, workers and laborers to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, and strive to complete the set goals.

Concluding the working session, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh highly appreciated and recognized Bac Ninh as a leading locality in the country in developing social housing with many timely policies and directions in the field of social housing, thereby meeting the housing needs of workers and laborers. Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the Deputy Minister requested Bac Ninh province to continue to focus on directing and supporting investors to implement projects, ensuring the progress and set goals, first of all, completing the 2025 target assigned by the Prime Minister. At the same time, pay attention to implementing Notice No. 120 of the Government Office; Linking social housing targets with the province's annual socio-economic development targets to review, count and have solutions to ensure the progress and set plans. Continue to review administrative procedures, give priority to social housing projects to encourage and promote social housing projects in the area.
