Rehearsal for the 10th People's Artist and Meritorious Artist Award Ceremony

(To Quoc) - This morning, March 5, leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and related units attended the rehearsal of the ceremony to confer and posthumously confer titles on 124 People's Artists (NSND) and 257 Meritorious Artists (NSUT) at the Hanoi Opera House.

According to Decision 1431/QD-CTN signed by President Vo Van Thuong on November 28, 2023 and Decision 724/QD-CTN signed on June 22, 2023, 119 individuals were awarded the title of People's Artist, 256 individuals were awarded the title of Meritorious Artist, 5 individuals were posthumously awarded the title of People's Artist and one individual was posthumously awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in the 10th round of considering and awarding the titles of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist.

To ensure that the ceremony to award the titles of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist takes place solemnly and impressively, this morning, March 5, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy and Deputy Minister Ho An Phong, along with relevant units, attended the program's rehearsal at the Hanoi Opera House.

Some People's Artists and Meritorious Artists honored this time were also present to attend the important rehearsal.

Accordingly, the reception and celebration plans were prepared to ensure solemnity and scientificity. The contents of the organization plan; program script, summary report of the awarding of titles, list of guests, People's Artists, Meritorious Artists and representatives of the families of late People's Artists, Meritorious Artists... have been basically completed.

In the 10th list of People's Artists, the theater sector has the largest number of artists awarded the title, up to more than 60 People's Artists. The music sector has more than 40 artists receiving the title of People's Artist.

Acknowledging the positivity and proactiveness of the units in performing their assigned tasks, Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy affirmed that, up to this point, the preparations for the 10th People's Artist and Meritorious Artist awarding ceremony have been carried out thoughtfully and thoroughly, ensuring progress and criteria of solemnity and meaning.

It can be said that after 10 times of honor, the title of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist is not only a prestigious award for each individual artist but also receives the attention of the public, because above all, they are beloved names, leaving important marks in the country's cultural and artistic scene over many decades.

There will be a grand art show at this event.

During the program, singer Thanh Lam will perform and receive the title of People's Artist awarded by the President.

Portraits of People's Artists are solemnly hung in the lobby of the Opera House.

The awarding ceremony of the titles of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist will take place at 8:00 a.m. on March 6, 2024 at the Hanoi Opera House.
