* On the same day, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Delegation visited Tram Chim High School (Tam Nong district) and presented 3 STEM classrooms to Tram Chim High School, Tan Hong High School (Tan Hong district) and Chau Thanh 1 High School (Chau Thanh district).
The STEM education model is an educational model based on an interdisciplinary approach, helping students apply knowledge of science, technology, engineering and mathematics to solve practical problems in specific contexts. In Dong Thap, since the 2019-2020 school year, the STEM Education model has been piloted in high schools.

Since the 2020-2021 school year, the province has deployed the STEM education model to all general education institutions in the area in conjunction with the 2018 General Education Program. To date, 100% of primary, secondary and high schools in the area have implemented the STEM education model. However, the whole province only has four STEM rooms with basic equipment. In the remaining schools, they only take advantage of existing equipment and make some teaching aids themselves to serve some STEM topics in the subject curriculum.
The gift from General Secretary To Lam is of great significance to the high schools that were awarded and to the education sector of Dong Thap province. The equipped STEM classrooms contribute to opening up learning and creative opportunities for students, motivating schools to continue promoting the spirit of innovation, building an advanced educational environment, training the young generation to firmly step on the path of conquering knowledge and digital technology, training digital citizens to master 4.0 technology.
Speaking at Tram Chim High School (Tam Nong District), General Secretary To Lam emphasized the need to strongly transform teaching methods from imparting knowledge to developing skills. Instead of focusing only on theory, we need to increase practical activities, encourage students to self-study, self-discovery and work in groups.

STEM education will play an important role in equipping students with essential skills such as creative thinking, problem solving and teamwork. It is necessary to integrate English into other subjects, create a foreign language learning environment right from primary school and consider it as a second language in schools.
In addition, digital transformation in education is also an inevitable direction that we need to move towards. Applying information technology in teaching will help students access knowledge more proactively and effectively, so that they can easily access it at higher levels of education and in line with the trend. Developing STEM classrooms is a step in the right direction, contributing to realizing the goal of building a learning society and a sustainably developed country.
