On the morning of April 9, the Provincial Cooperative Union held a seminar to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnamese Cooperatives (April 11, 1946 - April 11, 2024) with the theme "For the sustainable development of cooperatives".

Over the years, the Provincial Cooperative Union has performed well its functions of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members; acting as a bridge between the Party, the State and the collective economic sector; grasping the actual operations of cooperatives to propose measures to remove difficulties and obstacles in mechanisms and policies, and allocating resources to implement programs. Mobilizing resources to improve the quality of support services, consulting, training, trade promotion, and product consumption for cooperatives.
Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union Nguyen Dinh Tuan delivered the opening speech.
According to statistics, the whole province has 1,329 cooperatives, including 835 agricultural cooperatives, 180 industrial and handicraft cooperatives, 127 trade and service cooperatives, 20 construction cooperatives, 27 transport cooperatives, 67 people's credit funds, 31 environmental cooperatives and 42 other cooperatives. The total number of members participating in cooperatives is 251,855 people.
The average revenue of cooperatives reached 7,525 billion VND/year, the average profit was 276 million VND/cooperative/year. The whole province has 10 cooperatives with 10 recognized OCOP products and 102 cooperatives with a total of 125 products recognized as 3-4 star OCOP products.
Vice President of the Cooperative Union Le Hong Hai reviewed the 78-year history of establishment and development of the cooperative.
There are 90 cooperatives participating in high-tech agricultural production and hundreds of cooperatives have developed sustainable production and product consumption chains. The operations of people's credit funds are relatively stable and developing. Many new cooperative models have emerged that operate in accordance with their nature and bring high economic efficiency.
Mr. Trinh Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union, read a letter from President Ho Chi Minh to Vietnamese Landlords and Farmers in 1946.
With its achievements, Thanh Hoa Province Cooperative Union was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal in 2012 and emulation flags, certificates of merit, and banners from the Government, Central Ministries, Departments, and Provincial People's Committee. At the same time, many collectives and individuals were awarded certificates of merit from various levels and departments.
Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Hoa province Nguyen Thi Phuong presented flowers to congratulate the traditional day of Vietnam Cooperatives.

At the seminar, representatives of the cooperatives reviewed the tradition of 78 years of establishment and development. At the same time, they exchanged and shared experiences in production and business towards the goal of "For the Sustainable Development of Cooperatives".
