As a border locality, Tinh Bien Town has a semi-mountainous terrain with nearly 2/3 of its natural area not affected by the flood season. In particular, this land has both plains and many mountains with many famous landscapes, known to tourists everywhere. At the same time, Tinh Bien also has a land border with the Kingdom of Cambodia, which can develop border trade and tourism activities through Tinh Bien International Border Gate. In particular, the border town is also the "intersection" of important traffic routes, connecting central areas in the region, from Long Xuyen City, Chau Doc City to Ha Tien City, Rach Gia City, Phu Quoc City (Kien Giang Province), very convenient for designing tours and tourism routes.

According to the orientation of the Master Plan for tourism development in the Mekong Delta region to 2020, with a vision to 2030 and the orientation for tourism development in An Giang province from 2014 to 2020, with a vision to 2030, Tinh Bien urban area is located in the western tourism space of the province, with the goal of exploiting typical tourism products.

Tinh Bien Town possesses rich tourism potential.

In recent times, the locality has exploited spiritual and cultural tourism products well on the basis of connecting the Sam Mountain National Tourism Area (Chau Doc City) with the Cam Mountain Tourism Area, connecting Tinh Bien International Border Gate to Ha Tien City, Phu Quoc City (Kien Giang Province), helping to form a unique tourism route in the Bay Nui - An Giang region. With unique tourism activities, in 2024, the number of visitors to the town will reach more than 3.43 million, reaching a revenue of nearly 344 billion VND.

In terms of comparative advantages, Tinh Bien Town is a particularly difficult socio-economic area, with investment incentives in terms of tax rates and investment incentive periods. In addition, local labor costs are also lower than in other places. The town also has many historical and cultural relics and festivals that attract a large number of visitors every year, such as: Bay Nui Bull Racing Festival, Bau Muop Lady Festival, Doan Minh Huyen's death anniversary... which can be exploited for new tourism products.

Increased exploitation

In order to exploit the potential and strengths of tourism, the Town Party Committee and People's Committee of Tinh Bien Town have increased their call for investors to come to the locality. In particular, they continue to call for investment in key local tourism development projects, such as: Nui Cam Tourist Area with 9 functional areas, favorable for developing resort tourism combined with health care; Bau Muop Ecological Tourist Area (Nha Bang Ward - Thoi Son); O Tuk Xa Lake Ecological Tourist Area, Ta Lot Lake; upgrading the Ro Pagoda Bull Racing Festival to develop more services and tours to attract and retain tourists. At the same time, they call for investors to come to the locality to exploit and develop ecotourism, resorts, shopping, and adventure tourism at Dai Nam Gieng Mountain, Ket Mountain, and Ba Doi Mountain...

Recently, the Town Party Committee and People's Committee of Tinh Bien Town have connected with Sao Mai Group to exploit new tours, routes and tourism products in the locality. On the side of Sao Mai Group, they have proposed a number of ideas related to the projects: Investing in electric cars to serve tourists at tourist areas and destinations; sponsoring the organization of cultural festivals, traditional festivals of the Kinh - Khmer - Cham ethnic groups; building a resort on the Cam Mountain Forest Park complex, at the foot of Cam Mountain to retain tourists on the group's available land fund. With Tra Su Melaleuca forest, it is possible to develop bungalows in the style of Southern houses; organizing folk games typical of the river region, the Bay Nui region...

Accordingly, the Town People's Committee and Sao Mai Group have agreed to use electric vehicles to transport passengers at tourist attractions. At the same time, Tinh Bien Town proposed that Sao Mai Group soon deploy festivals and entertainment activities to serve tourists on the occasion of April 30 and in July (lunar calendar) 2025. Along with that, they agreed on the need to properly resolve environmental and traffic requirements to meet tourists' needs on the basis of ensuring appropriate planning in accordance with regulations. Strengthen management, ensure requirements on security and order, environment for tourism services... to create a good impression for tourists when coming to the border town.

According to Decision 1369/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, Tinh Bien Town is one of the four dynamic urban areas of An Giang Province, with the function of a border urban area, an international trade hub through Tinh Bien International Border Gate, closely linking the Chau Doc - Long Xuyen economic corridor and the Tinh Bien - Chau Doc - An Phu - Tan Chau border corridor; is a center of tourism, trade, services, processing and manufacturing industry.
