On the morning of November 15, Mr. Le Tan Ho, Vice Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee, visited, expressed condolences and encouraged the families of the four students who had an accident while swimming in the river.
After this tragic incident, the Standing Committee of Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee directed the Party Committee of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee to direct units and localities to strengthen measures to prevent and combat drowning, especially to strengthen prevention and combat accidents during the rainy and stormy season; and to prevent and combat drowning in children and students.
At the same time, strengthen information, propaganda and warning of accidents during the rainy and stormy season; focus on propaganda and mobilization of families and schools to regularly pay attention to education and management to prevent children and students from bathing in ponds, lakes, rivers, streams and seas in unsafe areas during the rainy and stormy season.
On the afternoon of November 14, 6 students of class 5C of Hoa Phu Primary School, Tay Hoa District (Phu Yen) were given a day off from physical education by the school, so they went to the embankment of Ba River to bathe. While bathing, 4 students: Do Hoang Le Minh, Bui Quang Khoi, Tran Nguyen Ba Tu and Tran Minh Trang were swept away by the water and went missing. At 5:00 p.m. on November 14, authorities found the bodies of Do Hoang Le Minh and Tran Nguyen Ba Tu.
