Tien Giang has 6 tourist destinations certified by OCOP

Dong Tam Snake Farm tourist attraction attracts many visitors.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment (DARD) of Tien Giang province, in recent times, the work of evaluating and recognizing OCOP products in Tien Giang province has been actively implemented. Up to now, the whole province has 350 OCOP products including: 1 5-star product (Vinh Phat Soursop Tea); 17 potential 5-star products (Dong Tam Snake Farm Tourist Site and 16 chocolate products are completing documents to submit to the Central Government); 82 4-star products (including 14 products evaluated at the district level waiting for provincial level evaluation) and 250 3-star products with a total of 165 participating entities (31 cooperatives, 54 enterprises and 80 production and business households).

In the tourism sector, Tien Giang currently has 6 tourist destinations that have achieved OCOP products, including 2 4-star destinations (Ba Duc Ancient House Tourist Site and Dong Tam Camp Tourist Site) and 4 3-star destinations (Thao Nguyen Orchid Garden Tourist Site, Cai Be Bamboo Village Southern Garden Eco-tourism Site, Green Garden Tourist Site - visiting and experiencing the Koi fish ecological model associated with food and beverage services and Trung Kien Eco-tourism Area).

Currently, My Tho City is focusing on implementing the Plan "Developing community tourism in Thoi Son commune, My Tho City associated with promoting the art of Southern amateur music and developing OCOP products".

Currently, the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tien Giang province are coordinating to support and guide Dong Tam Snake Farm Tourist Site to implement the criteria to orient the proposal to the Central Government to evaluate and recognize 5 stars for community tourism services and tourist sites.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in the coming time, the province will continue to implement the Plan "Developing community tourism in Thoi Son commune, My Tho city associated with promoting the art of Southern amateur music and developing OCOP products".

At the same time, guide tourist service businesses to complete the criteria to participate in evaluating OCOP products, community tourism services and tourist destinations.
