Promoting the youth in the movement of self-reliance and career establishment, in recent years, the Youth Union members in the province have implemented many economic models with high efficiency. From there, it not only helps the youth get rich in their homeland, but also promotes the socio-economic development of the locality.
At the end of the year, we visited the fruit garden of Mr. Hoang Huu Quyet's family, Thanh Xa 2 sub-area, Ha Linh town (Ha Trung) right when his family was harvesting Dien grapefruit. Mr. Quyet said: "Realizing that growing fruit trees combined with raising livestock brings high efficiency, for many years now my family has renovated an area of 8 hectares to grow fruit trees such as oranges, Dien grapefruit, jackfruit, apples... and raise pigs and chickens. In the process of developing this economic model, I have consulted on how to plant and care for trees in books, newspapers, social networks and participated in training courses organized by Ha Trung District Youth Union; visited effective farm models in and outside the province. In addition, I also installed a drip irrigation system using Israeli technology, helping plants absorb nutrients from fertilizers well, providing water to the roots, avoiding wasting water during the production process. Thanks to that, the crops have higher productivity and quality, and traders come to the garden to buy the fruits after harvest. It is estimated that each year the model brings in about 1 billion VND in revenue."
Thanh Phat Macadamia Cooperative, Van Hoa village, Cat Van commune (Nhu Xuan), with Ms. Pham Thi Thu as deputy director, is currently operating quite effectively. Ms. Thu said: "After researching, I realized that macadamia is an easy-to-grow tree, suitable for the land and climate, along with the low investment and care costs, so I discussed with my family to rent land to grow macadamia trees. In 2014, I imported seeds for experimental planting. After a while, seeing that the macadamia trees grew and developed well, I began to expand the area and established Thanh Phat Macadamia Cooperative. Up to now, the Cooperative has attracted 18 members to participate and has expanded the macadamia growing area to 51 hectares".
To promote products to a large number of customers, Thanh Phat Cooperative has actively posted products on social networking sites such as Zalo, Facebook and participated in markets and exhibitions in and outside the province. In 2023, Thanh Phat Macadamia products achieved 3-star OCOP, thanks to which customers also know and trust to choose.
In recent years, in order for the Youth Union in the district to develop the economy and get rich on their homeland, the Nhu Xuan District Youth Union has accompanied the youth in starting a business and establishing a career. In 2024, the District Youth Union coordinated with the Provincial Center for Career Guidance, Vocational Training and Youth Employment to organize a career counseling, job introduction and recruitment program for 1,000 students of Nhu Xuan Secondary and High Schools; more than 300 Youth Union members participated in job orientation activities organized by the People's Committee of Nhu Xuan District. In addition, the work of reviewing the need for loans for economic development and starting a business among cadres and Youth Union members has been directed with attention. In 2024, Nhu Xuan District Youth Union coordinated with the district Social Policy Bank to disburse loans to 5 young people from provincial start-up capital with a total amount of over 400 million VND, effectively managing entrusted loans from the Policy Bank with a total outstanding debt of over 79,907 billion VND, an increase of nearly 1.5 billion VND compared to 2023. Thanks to that, up to now, many effective economic models led by young people have appeared in the district.
In recent times, there have been more and more effective economic development models led by young people in the province. To promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and business establishment among young people, Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union has increased support and connected with agencies and units to implement support policies, creating conditions for young people to develop economic models suitable to local conditions; organize training courses on digital transformation; start-up consulting days for young people. Along with that, the Provincial Youth Union has directed grassroots unions at all levels to implement the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) Program; encourage young people in the province to compete in proposing initiatives, technical improvements, applying scientific and technical advances, new technological processes in production, creating many new products with quality and economic efficiency.
