The Vietnamese delegation was led by Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh, with the participation of representatives from a number of units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, artists from the Vietnam Music, Dance and Singing Theater, and representatives of businesses.

The program has Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in France Dinh Toan Thang; Chairman of the Association for the Promotion of Vietnamese Tourism and Culture in Europe Le Y Linh; Head of Vietnam Airlines Branch in France and Europe Nguyen Tien Hoang; along with guests, tourism, travel and aviation businesses, and international press.
Welcoming delegates to the program promoting Vietnamese tourism in France, Director Nguyen Trung Khanh said that the official diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France were established on April 12, 1973, marking a new chapter demonstrating the will and desire to build a long-term, comprehensive friendship and cooperation between the two peoples. In the context of international integration, both countries are promoting development cooperation in all fields, including tourism.
As a country rich in natural and cultural potential, with many unique and novel tourism products, Vietnam has many advantages to develop tourism with many special products such as cultural - historical tourism, eco-tourism, and sea tourism exploited in the direction of sustainable development. Vietnam has 08 cultural and natural heritages recognized by UNESCO, 15 intangible cultural heritages, 10 documentary heritages and 03 global geoparks, 11 biosphere reserves.
Besides familiar destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Ha Long, there are many new destinations that attract international tourists, including French and European tourists, including: Sa Pa, Dien Bien Phu historical relic complex, scenic complex, Hue ancient capital, Hoi An ancient town, Son Doong cave exploration, beach resorts on Phu Quoc island...
In particular, currently, agricultural tourism, community tourism, ecotourism based on nature and cultural experiences, traditional craft villages, unique cultural festivals, famous Vietnamese dishes such as Pho, spring rolls, bun cha, banh mi are very popular with international tourists. Many destinations and tourism products have been ranked among the world's top by prestigious tourism organizations, consulting and evaluation sites such as World Travel Awards, TripAdvisor, Telegraph and major media agencies such as CNN, BBC.
Program Overview
According to Director Nguyen Trung Khanh, France is the traditional and leading important market for Vietnamese tourism in Europe. In 2023, Vietnamese tourism will welcome nearly 216,000 French visitors, achieving a recovery rate of 75% compared to the pre-Covid-19 period, ranking second among Vietnam's largest tourist markets in Europe.
In recent times, the tourism industries of the two countries have had many cooperative activities to promote tourism exchanges such as signing tourism cooperation agreements. Airlines Vietnam Airlines and Air France have launched direct flights connecting major cities and tourist centers of the two countries.
The Vietnamese tourism industry has actively organized tourism promotion activities in France such as organizing survey teams, tourism introduction programs, participating in the Top Resa International Tourism Fair and many other activities to enhance tourism exchanges between the two countries. The Vietnamese government has exempted visas for French citizens to Vietnam since 2015 and increased the temporary stay for French tourists from 15 days to 45 days from August 15, 2023.
"Convenient direct flights, simple entry and exit procedures, attractive destinations and tourism products, and warm and hospitable people are ideal conditions to promote tourism development between the two countries," the Director emphasized.
The Director said that the program to introduce Vietnamese tourism in France is a good opportunity for tourism businesses from both sides to share updated information, towards business cooperation, and to enhance tourism exchanges between Vietnam and France in preparation for a new period of stronger development.

Speaking at the program, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to France Dinh Toan Thang emphasized that Vietnam is a country with a long-standing culture and many beautiful landscapes. It has a very rich cultural heritage with many cultural and natural destinations recognized by UNESCO as world heritage sites. Along with that is the world's leading cuisine with unique flavors and diverse dishes. Tourists will always be welcomed in Vietnam with the hospitality and warmth of the people.
The Ambassador said that the journey of French tourists to Vietnam is not only supported by the historical and cultural relationship between the two countries but also by bilateral cooperation in many fields, thereby supporting the development of green and sustainable tourism.
"In recent years, tourism exchanges between France and Vietnam have grown significantly, through efforts to promote and connect airlines. I believe that tourism between France and Vietnam still has great potential for strong development. The program introducing Vietnamese tourism in Paris today is also an opportunity to promote tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchange between the two countries," Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang emphasized.
At the program, delegates, guests, and businesses listened to Ms. Le Y Linh - President of the Association for Promotion of Tourism and Culture of Vietnam in Europe introduce Vietnam tourism. She said that along with the new visa policy applied by Vietnam from August 15, 2023, Vietnam's national airline Vietnam Airlines and France's national airline Air France have opened direct flights, thereby helping tourists travel more conveniently.
Vietnam's tourism products are currently very diverse and rich. Besides continuing to develop traditional products such as sea and island tourism, cultural tourism, and city tourism, Vietnam is focusing on promoting new products such as golf tourism, culinary tourism, health tourism, adventure tourism, etc.
Earlier, on the same day, a program connecting Vietnamese and French businesses took place. Here, businesses from both sides connected, exchanged, updated information on operations, sought opportunities and established business cooperation relationships, attracting French tourists in particular and European tourists in general to travel to Vietnam and vice versa./.
