On May 25, nearly 80 houses of Lam Dot commune, Ha Luoi, damaged or had their roofs blown off by a storm were rebuilt by police officers, soldiers and local authorities.
The storm caused the roofs of 78 houses in HA Luoi to be blown off.
Earlier, on the evening of May 23, a tornado accompanied by heavy rain swept through Lam Dot commune. The tornado lasted for about 1 hour, damaging many crops, fields, gardens and houses of the people in this mountainous district.
The tornado caused 78 houses in Lam Dot commune to have their roofs blown off, including 6 houses with their roofs completely blown off. In addition, there were 2 unfortunate cases of people being injured by lightning, and 1 child had to be hospitalized.
After the natural disaster, on May 24 and 25, the Ha Luoi Police deployed forces and vehicles to coordinate with the army, local authorities and functional forces to quickly support people in rebuilding their houses.
Armed forces help people re-roof their houses
By this afternoon (May 25), the support work for the people was basically completed, and people returned to normal life. On this occasion, the Ha Luoi Police also visited and supported the family of the child who was struck by lightning and hospitalized with 2 million VND.
HA Luoi authorities recommend that at this time, thunderstorms often occur in the area in the late afternoon and evening with whirlwinds; therefore, people should be highly vigilant and seek safe shelter when thunderstorms occur.
